Maybe wondering about the dumbest quote of the evening?

Take a look at this, from the head of Hoverounds at the Kentucky Democratic Republican Party:

Logsdon said Democrats “really didn’t have a reason to turn out” at the polls Tuesday.

“When turnout is this low, I’m not sure what this means,” Logsdon said.

HAHAHA.

Yeah.

Maybe Logsdon, who apparently didn’t fall far from the apple tree, should ask women, African Americans, all the folks who have died over 300 years so we can vote and then bitch about not having anyone to vote for?

Let us be the folks to point out why Democrats didn’t show up to the polls: because Logsdon and his friends threatened people to keep them from running for office. He and others have taken a direct role in the defamation of anybody who questions the Democratic Party. And because he’s making Steve Robertson look like a political genius.

OH GOD NOW RED CHINA IS JUST COLD TAKIN OVER THE MOVIES!!!1! A Chinese conglomerate announced Monday it will buy a major U.S. cinema chain, AMC Entertainment Holdings, for $2.6 billion in China’s biggest takeover of an American company to date.
The Kentucky Democratic Republican Party will pretend this isn’t based in reality: Obama, as we’ve noted before, has performed especially poorly in West Virginia and Oklahoma, where he took less than 60 percent of the vote. (His top opponent in West Virginia was a federal inmate in Texas, while in Oklahoma it was an anti-abortion rights activist). Obama also took just 77 percent in Louisiana, where several other candidates split up the vote. In the same vein, the Arkansas and Kentucky primaries tonight are likely to include significant numbers of Democrats spurning the president. In the former, Obama faces a one-on-one contest against attorney John Wolfe , while in the latter, he faces the “uncommitted” option. [WaPo]

Late last Friday, Buzzfeed reporter and Rolling Stone contributor Michael Hastings broke what looked like a big scoop: Congress was quietly planning to lift a 64-year-old law preventing the US government from using propaganda on its own citizenry. Before the House passed its defense budget bill Friday afternoon, Hastings reported, a bipartisan group of congressmen tacked on an amendment that would “essentially neutralize” a set of time-tested guidelines “that had been passed to protect U.S. audiences from our own government’s misinformation campaigns.” [Mother Jones]

Which Reggie Meeks supporter drives a champagne-colored Z71 pick-up truck? The guy captured on our surveillance cameras looked an awful lot like Meeks himself.

They’ve been driving up and down Brownsboro Road all morning illegally placing yard signs in rights-of-way.

A few shots:

We called Meeks’ office and Betty says he’s out of the office for the day.

Of course, teabagger Wendy Caswell has done the same crap:

You’d think people like Reggie Meeks would know better than to pull stunts like this.

For the record: we have better footage – including plate numbers – of the “guy” placing signs up and down the street. At one point, they ventured onto our private property but thought twice about placing signs upon seeing dozens of cameras.

UPDATE: Just like that, a flood of calls from Meeks’ personal cell phone. We’d prefer he collect his illegally placed signs rather than bother making excuses.

Yep. A fundraising invitation with no paid-for-by disclaimer language, nothing about contribution limits, yadda yadda.

The Democrats love complaining about Republican missteps in the 4th but it looks like we’re in for a long, embarrassing Democratic failure.

It’s almost sad watching the Kentucky Democratic Republican Party “chairman” pretend Democrats are going to win two State Senate seats that, well, Republicans are probably going to win. Because, let’s get real, a convict doesn’t need to be elected to office and the other candidate can’t raise money to run a campaign.

Note that he says David Williams will weigh heavily in those races. So, when those Republicans win, you heard it from Daniel H… Logsdon first. It’s a testament to him.

What’s even more sad is the way he addresses the Party’s alleged “position” on gay marriage:

“It’s been settled here since 2004.” and “It’s a moot point.” and “We really don’t have a position on that.”

There you go. Democratic cowardice and obfuscation at an all-time high.

P.S. It is like West Virginia where people say they don’t support President Barack Obama. Remember the last presidential race where a majority of Democrats admitted they voted against Obama on the basis of race? Yeah.

Morgan McGarvey’s fellow Democratic opponents in the 19th District State Senate race keep urging us to discuss his background. Unfortunately, none of them have the guts to speak up about it. They’re terrified of the establishment. And that leads us to believe they’re no more fit to serve in public office than McGarvey.

That said… let’s take a look at McGarvey’s real world problem.

You’re familiar with writ of possession/writ of eviction, right? The process where a bank goes to court for an order instructing the sheriff to forcibly evict people from their home within 24 hours? Even if the person is elderly or a family member is deathly ill or pregnant? Sure you are. You can Google it if you’re not.

You’re probably also familiar with the reality that the big banks that were investigated for mortgage fraud – and subsequently settled with the Department of Justice with the blessing of Jack Conway (McGarvey’s former boss) – are the very banks McGarvey’s law firm represents. Writ of possession is even a service his law firm promotes on its website:

Some of his firms big Wall Street clients that utilized writ of possession – often illegally and in instances of robosigning?

Chase

Bank of America

CitiFinancial

Here it is on his site:

Just to name a few.

It’s a practice that has cost not only hard working families without the ability to pay a lawyer their homes, it’s directly impacted thousands of Louisvillians and Kentuckians.

It’s a practice many of those big banks continue to rely on as they’re continually investigated for mortgage fraud.

Unfortunately for McGarvey, he can’t say his salary paid by the firm never included funds derived from the practice. So just roll your eyes when he and his folks foam at the mouth about it in reaction.

It’s a real shame the Courier-Journal editorial board ignored this reality when the group gave him preferential treatment during a recent interview of the candidates. Gary Demling, Sarah Lynn Cunningham and Amy Shoemaker were repeatedly cut off while McGarvey was allowed to speak at length. Strangely, none of them were allowed to follow-up on what McGarvey had to say.

It’s also a real shame his opponents don’t have the drive to really differentiate themselves from the establishment by discussing issues like this.

And you wonder why Kentucky can’t have nice things.

You know what’s unfortunate? The Kentucky Democratic Republican Party is working overtime to trash Sarah Lynn Cunningham.

We’re absolutely shocked that Alecia Webb-Edgington didn’t resort to personal attacks and just cold being nasty in this story about how, well, how bad her fundraising sucks. And what was that about making a budget stretch in Frankfort, again? [WFPL]

Predictions on how long it takes for A Kentucky Newspaper to not change at all? One day? One week? A month? How long will it take the feigned hype to die down before nothing changes? [C-J/AKN]

What would you do if your home, place of employment and entire community were wiped off the face of the earth by a tornado? Recovery in Eastern Kentucky will take a long time and only the Red Cross remains on the ground supporting the people who most need it. [Click Here To Give]

When are you mouth-breathers going to realize that your hate and ignorance helps drive young gay people to take their lives? Is it impossible for you to comprehend that hate, discrimination, defamation and attacks are the antithesis of what you claim to espouse? Of course you don’t. You won’t realize it until hordes of mouth-breathers start killing themselves for realizing they’re living in an ignorant fantasy world. [HuffPo]

The only thing the Kentucky Democratic Republican Party is turning up is the air conditioning. Because the folks at KDRP can’t walk ten feet without nearly sweating to death. And because the heat is coming from Republicans making life difficult for them. [Twitter]

While the Democrats love hanging this special session albatross around the neck of David Williams? This bit from a Gerth/Loftus/Wynn article makes it more than clear that Steve Beshear is in charge of spending way more than $60,000 per day: Meanwhile, Gov. Steve Beshear is still pondering whether to act on the state’s road plan quickly or allow the session to drift into next week. [C-J/AKN]

Of course Ben Chandler is making campaign contributions to his fellow faux Democrats. That’s how things work with him. [Politico]

But let’s not pretend that he could lose to Candy Barr, one of the worst opponents ever, like this article suggests could happen. [Probably Not Happening]

Kind of a major pee alert: Scott Walker was there to speechify as a guest of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce. About three thousand radical marxist trade laborers, teachers, firefighters, and other public sector employees/Union Thugs turned out to welcome Governor Walker and offer a large bag of kettle-cooked chipotle dicks for him to eat. [Wonkette]

There are a bunch of children playing pat-a-cake in Frankfort. Literally playing pat-a-cake with important legislation. This is why Kentucky gets a mere eye roll in the rest of the country. [WFPL]

Mittens Romney is the Meh-Publican candidate and people can’t decide if they are brainwashed or skeerd of the black man enough to support him. [HuffPo]
