The Kentucky Democratic Republican Party will pretend this isn’t based in reality: Obama, as we’ve noted before, has performed especially poorly in West Virginia and Oklahoma, where he took less than 60 percent of the vote. (His top opponent in West Virginia was a federal inmate in Texas, while in Oklahoma it was an anti-abortion rights activist). Obama also took just 77 percent in Louisiana, where several other candidates split up the vote. In the same vein, the Arkansas and Kentucky primaries tonight are likely to include significant numbers of Democrats spurning the president. Late last Friday, Buzzfeed reporter and Rolling Stone contributor Michael Hastings broke what looked like a big scoop: Congress was quietly planning to lift a 64-year-old law preventing the US government from using propaganda on its own citizenry. Before the House passed its defense budget bill Friday afternoon, Hastings reported, a bipartisan group of congressmen tacked on an amendment that would “essentially neutralize” a set of time-tested guidelines “that had been passed to protect U.S. audiences from our own government’s misinformation campaigns.” [Mother Jones]

According to a release, he’s also going on a jobs tour in the 4th District.

During a February meeting of Lewis County’s fiscal court, a resolution was presented to authorize an application for a Community Development Block Grant that would have added 27 jobs.

But because it was a federal program? Massie voted against it and the 27 well-paying jobs it would create:

On a motion made by Joe Bentley duly seconded by Milt Stanfield voting yes and Judge Massie voting no to approve Resolution #12-2, Industrial Park with Buffalo Trace Area Development District.

Fortunately, he was outvoted by magistrates and was forced to sign the application:

And then he sent a letter along with the application objecting to the involvement of Buffalo Trace Area Development District.

So what was that, again, about being a job creator?

So he’s telling you how to vote in KY-04.

Just as he directed a bunch of SuperPAC cash (according to Massie camp staffers).

The hypocrisy is as ripe as Thomas Massie’s:

In that ad, you see him saying he won’t take a pension in congress. Despite the mainstream reports that he cannot opt out of a congressional pension. He says he doesn’t take a pension now but doesn’t bother mentioning he can’t because – get this – he isn’t retired.

Just like saying taxes didn’t raise during his term as Judge-Executive when they, you know, absolutely did.

Kinda like Massie trashing subsidies while at the same time pocketing thousands of dollars in farm subsidies.

Funny how the teabagger hypocrisy works, isn’t it?

We’d ask him how he comes up with all of this fancy hypocrisy at his kitchen table but we hear he (allegedly) has had trouble getting a certificate of occupancy because of all the code violations.

And we wouldn’t want to die up in that Davidian/teabagger castle that, you know, the average 4th District voter couldn’t afford.

Moore has received more than $275,000 in contributions since entering, making him the top fundraiser in a crowded field hoping to replace retiring U.S. Rep. Geoff Davis.

Financial reports filed Thursday with the Federal Election Commission show Moore added another $37,000 between April 1 and May 2. But they also show an independent political group supporting Massie has dumped more than $500,000 into the race.

Neither Moore nor Alecia Webb-Edgington (where on earth is she these days, anyway? It’s like her campaign has died) are relying on out-of-state PACs or large personal loans to push their candidacy.

On a related note: we’ve been looking at Thomas Massie’s claim that he cut his county’s budget by 21%. Could it be because – get this – all those federal stimulus dollars stopped rolling in? He had no control over that mess and wants to claim costs were cut by his hand.

Massie claims taxes in Lewis County haven’t raised under him but, uh:

Unfortunately for Massie, that’s not based in reality. The budget increase came in order to beef up salaries.

The tea at Massie’s kitchen table must be hallucinogenic.
