On the down side, Montgomery County Schools will maintain its centralized bookkeeping system for another year at the recommendation of the district’s new superintendent, Matthew Thompson:

That’s despite millions of dollars in questionable activity, bid-rigging, booster scandals, Title IX nightmares, et al. Probably one of the most risky moves the school board has made.
On the up side, they’re keeping the bookkeeper Jacqui Johnston’s tried to get rid of. So there’s that.

The board has finally, over the past few weeks, decided to fight to force ELPO to hand over unredacted invoices. Something ELPO has not done despite months and months of requests by the board. All it took was us pointing out a few, ahem, inconsistencies.
