The meeting is set to begin at 5:00 P.M. Eastern. We’ll update here as necessary.

UPDATE

It’s after 5:00 P.M. and there’s no Powell:

JOSHUA POWELL ABSENT

MIA?

The board is present, though:

MEMBERS OF THE BOARD

At least they had the courtesy to show up.

UPDATE

It’s 5:05 P.M. and the board has entered closed session.

THERE THEY GO

This shouldn’t take long at all.

For those who asked:

TROOPERS PRESENT

Yes, Kentucky State Police troopers are present.

Just standing around:

SEE?

An absolutely stellar use of taxpayer dollars.

Seems like only yesterday various posts were complaining about only being able to keep a single officer on patrol in their region. Would imagine the folks at the meeting are thankful for their presence, however.

UPDATE

Phil Rison, the assistant superintendent also under EPSB investigation, speaks with Powell employee and supporter, Debbie Goldy:

RISON & GOLDY

Wonder what they’re discussing?

Powell is still using her, at taxpayer expense, to film the audience of the board meetings.

Kristi Carter showed up:

KRISTI CARTER

She doesn’t look pleased.

UPDATE

They’re finally coming out of closed session at about 6:30.

THEY RETURN

What on earth were they doing in there? Eating dinner? Playing scrabble?

Some more photos for you:

Brings the grand total to five supporters. All paid.

The camera’s on the crowd, not the board.

Powell’s lone supporter on the board, Donna Wilson:

DONNA WILSON

Looked displeased as the board once again suspended Joshua Powell.

UPDATE

With that, the Montgomery County Board of Education has suspended Joshua Powell for the second time in a week.

His EPSB trial begins Monday and the board has another special session scheduled for that evening. Should be quite the eventful week, so be sure to check back for updates.

UPDATE: Nope, Monday’s meeting is canceled.
