That sound you hear?
It’s a Montgomery County Schools officer who resigned. Specifically, the director of law enforcement for the district.
Because — allegedly (cough) — he was tired of being lured into potential illegal schemes crafted by superintendent Joshua Powell and assistant superintendent Phil Rison.
It’s probably not a good thing for the superintendent that his top cop quit on him. A top cop who is a retired state trooper. A top cop who still serves as a state trustee for the Fraternal Order of Police.
Finally, someone Powell can’t easily retaliate against.
