What’s that? More than $20,000 worth of weight lifting equipment was purchased by Montgomery County Schools without soliciting competitive bids? And the superintendent’s right hand admitted that there was no bid process? Surely not!

The pertinent bits: purchases of like items that will exceed $20,000 in a 12-month period are to go out for bid.
Depending upon how one interprets KRS 162.070, that may also be a violation of state law.
