Everyone feels sympathy for Regina Bunch:
Two juveniles charged in the death of former state Rep. Dewayne Bunch pleaded guilty Tuesday to an enhanced charge, but they will not serve any additional time in jail, according to Bunch’s widow.
The two were first charged with assault for injuring Bunch during a fight. The charges were changed to reckless homicide in the wake of Bunch’s death last month, according to Regina Bunch.
However, the teens don’t face additional jail time, Bunch said.
Bunch said she thinks it is unjust that the two won’t serve more time behind bars given that her husband died as a result of injuries he received trying to break up a fight between them.
“I feel like it’s disrespectful to the life of my husband,” Bunch said.
But does she really want those youth to spend so much time in prison that they become actual hardened criminals?
It’s a question our society needs to begin asking itself more often.

The Judge in this case actually did his job and determined the truth. The school board said “the video” was obstructed, but the school board knew damn well that the video system was not even running because it was in the process of being upgraded. Every single student that witnessed the incident said that these kids were fighting and Bunch came in like superman, slipped and hit his head. So in reality the Whitley County School Board may be facing more “civil” litigation for this incident. It is a tragedy but at the end of the day I am glad the truth came out.
