What is the purpose of fining coal mine operators for safety violations if they do nothing to the coal operators if they do not pay the fine?
Try not paying a $78 dollar speeding ficket and you will go to jail. Not pay $800,000 fines for safety violations and nothing happens to you if your a coal operator. No wonder we keep having people die in mines. Arrest the coal operators if they dont pay fines and keep in jail until they do and then things might change.

Kudos Roger, how is it that Mitch’s fortune has grown to over $12,000,000 if he is from the so called “wrong side of Louisville”?
I’ll bet Mitch’s endorsement of “Citizens United” will come back to bite him in the buttocks!
As far as Mitch’s legacy, he’ll be considered the “Great Obstructionist”, especially at a time when our country needed to be united. There will be scores of papers written for scholars to study and debate over the value of self-absorption to galvanize legacy vs self-sacrifice in the name of reasoning.
