Murray State University’s president wants a new $62 million library.
So what’s he do?
Tries to change legislation so student use fees may be used.
The Council on Postsecondary Education told him that he could under no circumstances consider using student fees to build a new facility. And he got into a fight of epic proportions.
No one can deny that libraries are important. But using student fees? At a time when tuition is jacked through the roof?
Not exactly the best battle to pick with the CPE. Not exactly the kind of MSU fingerprints you want on legislation in Frankfort at the moment.
