This week?
We love that Steve Beshear and a handful of those bitter over horsey gambling are trying to blame David Williams for “killing” it.
Never mind that it was, you know, everyone else in the state who did so.
Primarily progressive Democrats who don’t believe in constitutionally guaranteeing right of ownership to five corporations for the sole purpose of enriching those corporations. Progressive Democrats who support gambling 100% and want full-on casinos all over, even.
Never mind that KDRP and Damon Thayer just spent a year going around the state proclaiming that David possesses neither the political power to get anything done nor the ability to get Democrats to vote against anything.
But David makes a good scapegoat/devil, we guess?
And the Democrats who worked against the effort do not.

I’m one conservative Republican that supports the right to have full casinos in KY, not a constitutional monopoly for an industry which has proven utterly unable or unwilling to help itself.

And this middle of the road dude agrees. No way would I vote for that that 60 mile radius….. Williams is getting too much credit. I’d bet that most reps are delighted at not having to vote. How ridiculous, writing into the constitution a monopoly for racetracks???? The comedians would have had a field day–endless ridicule for us rubes…..

Way too much credit for Williams…what’s the excuse then for the Dem’s who voted against it if it was just all a big David Williams constructed conspiracy to kill gambling ?
