Legislative Ethics Commission staff is trying to run some serious CYA on the Keith Hall front.
You’ve seen their comments here on Page One.
Now they’re freaking out via email because they’re experiencing tons of legislative pressure for daring express their thoughts privately.
Do you smell that? Some folks are afraid of losing appointments and their non-merit jobs.
No wonder Kentucky can’t have nice things.
UPDATE: A reader reminded me…
The key witness in the Hall case died unexpectedly – literally days before he was supposed to be deposed. Something like six months AFTER then-Auditor Crit Luallen referred the case to Ethics.
Remember that? LEC’s attorney admitted that a weaker plea deal was reached as a result.
So all of this everything is puppies and rainbows talk is falling on deaf ears.
