Remember when we told you the meth Rx bill was nothing but a UNITE lobbying bit? Tom Jensen is the leading attorney for the organization. Funny how that works. [Leland Conway]

Last night, Papaw Beshear gave his annual budget address. If you want to skim over it, click the clicky. There are no surprises. [Click the Clicky]
Beshear’s decision to maintain funding for the prison system while cutting funds for the already struggling Kentucky State Police, prosecutors and Administrative Office of the Courts is shortsighted and, frankly, dumb as hell. [H-L]
Who’ll replace Danny Ford now that he’s retiring from the State House? [Press Release]

“A Pig in a UPike?”
No study of whether to make UPike a state school? That kind of crazy neglect is part of the reason that education at all levels is in trouble. The political honchos do what they want and have no regard for evidence or even rational argument. KY does not need another school in eastern KY; it needs more legislators who have the sense the Lord gave them–to have regard for empirical evidence instead of just whimsy and cronyism. Patton is not God or science!
