New Conway Ad Doesn’t Settle Drug Scandal

November 2nd, 2011 · 6 Comments

Jack Conway just released a new ad responding to Todd P’Pool’s attack ad:

Here’s the email blast from Elizabeth Conway that goes along with it:

We need your help to beat back a lie and shameful attack on our family. For a year now, Jack and I have stayed silent as our opponent has smeared our family with lies and innuendo, choosing instead to focus on helping Kentuckians get through these tough times. But because our opponent is desperate and behind in the polls, he’s running a deceitful ad campaign against Jack.

What he’s saying isn’t true – it’s shameful and I hope you will help us send a message that his attacks on Jack’s family will not be tolerated.

Our response is simple but powerful: Jack sets the record straight and tells our opponent to get out of the gutter and leave family members out of the campaign. Please join me now in sending a message that this type of politics must stop.

Thank you for standing up for the truth and for our family. We’re counting down the final days to victory and look forward to celebrating with you next week.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Conway

Unfortunately for Jack and his “family”? The record has not been set straight. Jack still refuses to address the matter. He doesn’t even do so in the above ad.

So let’s take a look at the facts:

From an August 12 story:

Because Jack Conway was embroiled in a high-profile U.S. Senate race, Politico, a national news organization, requested police records on the matter and wrote an article focusing on the Attorney General’s involvement in it. In the article, Jack Conway’s spokesperson denied that Jack interfered with the investigation in any way. But the police records told a different story. According to these documents, when Jack Conway learned of the compromised investigation from a political supporter, he directed a private lawyer to call the LMPD and ask questions about whether the Attorney General’s brother was under investigation. Jack Conway then arranged for his brother to secretly meet with this criminal lawyer at Jack’s private residence.

-SNIP-

Conway’s criminal defense lawyer somehow obtained a meeting with the Police Chief and subsequent to that meeting, no charges have ever been filed against Matt Conway in this matter.

Tons of questions about the scandal remain unanswered.

He’s had months and months and months to address the matter.

And he still hasn’t done so. Because he cannot say he didn’t give his brother a two-day heads up on a drug raid and he cannot say that he didn’t compromise a drug investigation.

Isn’t Jack the person who brought family members into it in the beginning by questioning P’Pool’s interaction with a family member?

Seems to me that P’Pool has been the least guilty of discussing this issue. The media and RPK have made it much more of an issue than P’Pool has.

Telling somebody to hire an attorney isn’t compromising a drug investigation? What’s Jack Conway smoking? Must be that east end good stuff.

Conway just opened the door. Watch team P’Pool drive a truck through it.

More disturbing to me is his hair color. It keeps getting lighter. It looks faker than sun-in. He needs to stop.
