Jack Conway Pretending To Stand Against The EPA

October 6th, 2011 · No Comments

Jack Conway was in Northern Kentucky to “campaign” (attend a fundraiser) and he held a faux public event that was populated by 80 members of a teachers union and labor council.

Yes, Amanda Van Benschoten’s replacement fell for the stunt and believed it was an actual moment of real campaigning. Even after he reported in his own story that it was just a fundraising push:

Conway pledged to continue to fight prescription drug abuse and bad business practices by some for-profit colleges and then attended a fundraiser at the Fort Mitchell Country Club.

That’s all puppies and rainbows.

Here’s what really made us laugh out loud:

Conway, like P’Pool, said some EPA regulations need to be challenged and noted his lawsuit in 2010 along with other attorneys general against the EPA’s attempt to regulate carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas.

“I’ve stood up against the EPA’s overreach time and time again,” Conway said. “I think global warming is real. I’m for clean air, but Kentucky is bearing a disproportionate share of the burden here.”

Jack is STILL pretending to be Beshear-esque when it comes to the environment. Unfortunately for him, his real stance on the EPA and the environment is one of the few things we still like about him. And he’s just feigning outrage for the sake of politics. You already know he’s on-the-record with me against poisoning our water ways, standing against mountaintop removal and he’s made it clear he thinks Beshear is merely posturing for coal dollars.
