Yes, we’re flashing back a year or two a lot this week.
Here’s what Jack Conway’s campaign “manager” had to say in a fundraising email blast yesterday:
I come to you again with just five weeks left until Election Day, November 8, to update you on the latest efforts by your Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway. Jack continues his record of promises made and promises kept to citizens of the Commonwealth.
Jack has been traveling the state, going to places like Boyd, Muhlenburg, Mason, Henderson, Daviess and Nelson counties in recent days, working to let Kentuckians know he will continue his record of keeping The Commonwealth safe over the next four years.
But we are approaching an important deadline for our campaign. This Friday, the financial reporting period for Kentucky candidates ends and our campaign needs your help to show our strength.
Catch that? Jack’s “campaign” promoting state-funded official travel as campaign activity.
That’s the only campaigning he does, aside from the occasional fundraiser. It’s why we rightfully criticized him in 2010 and it’s one of the reasons he lost to Rand Paul. He’s on that same track. His “campaign” staff are once again half-assing it and we see them lounging around Louisville all the time, strolling through Target in the middle of the day, begging us to talk to them.
Just like in 2010 (that’s when this video report aired):

Those same staffers are playing pat-a-cake with the press.
If he’s not careful, he could lose to Todd P’Pool. Because, well, you never know. There’s always the chance people could wisen up and realize he needs Democratic votes to win.
It’s almost like Jack doesn’t want to win this and his staff don’t, either.

I wonder how big the Ski Club was at Saint X? Paoli or Vail?

“Non-Joltin’ Jack Puts Us to Sleep”
When he first ran for office, Conway looked to be a potential star. In recent years, his star has fallen to the ground, fast asleep amid his glowing hair. He needs to get off his derriere if he wants to win. He should probably ignore his lame staff, in any case (remember how they did against Paul). But, Jack, show some damn life!
