September 6th, 2011 · 9 Comments

The Third Annual Golden Poo Awards is in the final day of nominations, so be sure to make yours as soon as possible.

It’s your chance to give back to the folks who “run” this state. You’ve thought long and hard about rewarding them and you know giving them a golden pile of poo is the perfect payback.

Get in on the previous categories here:

  • Most Constipated Politician – For the Candidate Who Campaigned for Something and Was Counted On to Bring It…. But Couldn’t Produce Shit When the Pressure Was On [Day 1]
  • Worst Example Of Total Incompetence From A Local Or State Official In An Appointed Post [Day 2]
  • Most Insincere Moment Of Public Pearl-Clutching [Day 3]

Here’s today’s final category, so have at it:

Reporter Most Likely To Make You Kick Your Television, Burn Your Newspaper, Smash Your Radio Or Toss Your Computer

Will it be a three-peat? Will WFPL’s Gabe Bullard win again? Only you can decide.

To nominate someone, please leave a comment on this post. Be sure to detail exactly why they deserve the award. If you can make it funny? Please do so.

Make it happen!

Lisa Autry, radio reporter at WKYU in Bowling Green and WKYU is a NPR member station.
I pick Lisa because she demonstrated such bias while I was running for Congress. I know the Guthrie family is well liked for their generous donations to Western Kentucky University and how can we miss their family namesake while on campus (Guthrie bell tower) but you would expect a reporter from NPR to be neutral during a campaign. Not only did Lisa treat me unfairly but she told me (during my interview) very loudly were she stood on abortion. Sure would like to have a copy (unedited) of that interview. Enjoy your nomination Lisa and try to be more concealing of your bias!

Nominee #1 is Joe Gerth for his obvious hatred of David Williams. Sometimes I think Williams must have stolen Gerth’s girlfriend in college or something to provoke such feelings.

Nominee #2 is John Cheves for his obvious hatred of Richie Farmer. See the speculation for Gerth/Williams and just change the name. Either that, or they played basketball against each other in high school and Farmer dumped in 50 against Cheves’ “stellar” defense.

Reporter Most Likely To Make You Smash Your Radio Or Toss Your Computer? Hands Down: Tony McVeigh

Well, not for the reasons that this award was intended, but the fact that this outstanding journalism professional (and I don’t use that lightly) QUIT his job leaves a hole in any coverage of Frankfort shenanigans. And for that, I want to smash my radio or toss my computer.

Sorely missed. And won’t fully be felt until the next session of the General Assembly.

Jake for going off the deep end for weeks on the LMAS issues, ignoring everything else that was going on in Louisville.

Pro-tip: Stop reading if you don’t like it.

Terry Meiners. Ever since her wrote a check to Steve Beshear on September 22nd, 2010.

Terry Meiners is a radio personality, not a reporter.

Dan Klepto for running a hit piece on Hal Henier last year just hours before the election.

Joe “Girth” for not knowing the definition of bias.
