The Republican Party of Kentucky is hitting Jerry Abramson, running mate of Steve Beshear, over his little slush fund scandal in Louisville:
According to the report, Abramson made shocking expenditures such as $3400 at a fancy steakhouse in Washington, D.C., $10,000 on four different Derby Day brunches with elected officials and $2,378 for a football game celebration. An internal audit shows many of these expenditures had little to no documentation that would explain the public purpose for the use of the money. At least one Louisville Councilmember admits that the Council never saw the expenditures and certainly would have questioned them had they had the opportunity.
“The scandals from the Abramson administration continue to trickle out, and his abuse of power and total disrespect for the people’s money is both shocking and scary,” said RPK Chairman Robertson. “If you are still wondering why Kentucky is in such a terrible economic state, look no further than the man Governor Beshear chose as his running mate.”
This isn’t the first time the RPK Chairman has blasted Abramson for what he calls “scamming the taxpayers.” Recently, an investigation revealed that Abramson hired a buddy for an $85000/year job and she apparently never even showed up to work. Abramson won’t comment on this most recent scandal, but the Democrat Party said Abramson was “proud” of his use of the fund.
“Proud? Is that a joke?” asked Robertson. “It should absolutely terrify taxpayers to think about what this man will do with their money if he receives the promotion he wants. Jerry Abramson has defrauded the taxpayers time and again and when Steve Beshear allows this man to stand beside him, he is complicit in every single one of his schemes.”
From Cordish Cos to this $180,000 mess, Jerry Abramson is going to be a hot potater once Republicans start to pounce.

But will the mainstream media take notice? They’re too busy pumping up a non-story that Richie Farmer declined to voluntarily take a furlough to do any investigation on their chosen and favored candidate. I don’t look for any negative stories on Abramson to be covered in the H-L or C-J while I expect them to continue piling on Farmer until November.

Who cares about Reeechie? Jesus. He’s dumber than Bobbie Coleslaw’s biscuits.
I expect the H-L to cover Abramson because the material will be fresh for them. From the memos in the 80s, to his wife’s scandal, to the current shit. The C-J has a vested interest in protecting him, though.

Any truth to the rumor I’ve heard that Abramson no longer lives in Jefferson County?

Jerry’s lived in the same house in my neighborhood for as long as I can remember. I see him several times per week.

OK, that puts that one to rest. I heard recently that he had moved to Oldham County after his term ran out.

The metro council is just not equipped to handle the jobs that they have , there is nobody that has the nuts to do the “heavy” lifting it takes to do the jobs right!…They have been bullied by Jerry & intimidated to subcum to him that they are all ‘gunshy”…..they should all be reloaded & they should be forced to go after Jerry and file whatever apporiate charges are necessary. But they all have so many skeletons in their own closets, none of them want to air the dirty laundry.
