Surely McConnell Doesn’t Believe What He Says

April 27th, 2011 · 6 Comments

Have you seen the craziness Mitch McConnell’s U.S. Senate staff puts on YouTube?

Take a look at this video that blames our current economic problems on oil:

Never mind McConnell’s own hand in the current crises, never-ending wars and a tax code so jacked up no one can ever figure it out.

There are few Kentuckians who care less about Kentucky than this man. His path could hardly be less destructive to Kentucky’s future.

    “A War by Any Means”

Reporter: “Ever hear of blood for oil, Senator?”

Mitch: “Is that part of a barter system?”

Reporter: “Why do you continue to support these perennial wars?”

Mitch: “There is no alternative for our homeland security. We will not stop until we are entirely secure in every aspect of our lives. We will not stop until we have nothing to fear.”

Reporter: “Have you ever thought of peace?”

Mitch: “I did read John Hersey’s ‘A Separate Peace’ in 8th grade. Wonderful book, but not part of the real world. This is a world of fear–and I will continue to be fearful until the day I rest my rump off my Senate seat.”

Reporter: “May it come in 2014. I fear it is too long away.”

Not only that, but as one of Kentucky’s biggest homophobes and gay rights opponents, I find it interesting no one has found it *odd* that you never see him and his *wife* together – ANYWHERE.

    Just sayin’

    “Do We Smell a Skunk?”

Good point, EJGB. I’ve heard it said that Empress Elaine has a similar feeling about her hubby that she has about Amurkan workers: They have awful body odor (she has been quoted to that effect). Thus, she does not get too close to either.
P.S. Hard to believe in Mitch’s case: He seems to do very little real work of any sort.

Uh, body odor? If we’re going to poke fun at people, let’s not gross everyone out.

Though, it’s not true that they aren’t spotted together regularly. I see them out all the time. At Kroger, once at a Thai restaurant, recently at Target.

“How Did You Miss Elaine’s Remarks, Jake?”

In Parade magazine (7/1/07), Empress Elaine (while US Secretary of Labor) accused American workers of having bad body odor, lousy dress habits, poor work ethics, and bad attitudes in general. “Gross” or not, there it is.
