House Bill 52 – the elder abuse bill created and pushed by Representative Joni Jenkins – was enacted today. Thanks go to Governor Steve Beshear for signing it into law. [SoS]

Miami removed it’s mayor for rewarding his closest pals. Kentuckians would never do something so common sensical. [NY Times]
Is it sad or hilarious that the Republican Kentucky Democratic Party’s out-of-context stunt this week has garnered just over 100 views statewide? [YouTube]
For comparison, I tweeted a photo of me as a baby that something like 70 people immediately checked. And tweeted a telephone screenshot of what I wanted for my birthday, which pulled 300ish views. I wish they’d bother getting good advice instead of playing this weird game of pat-a-cake. [Here & Here]
Ralph Long sent out a press release today saying that the United Mine Workers rescinded its endorsement of Gatewood Galbraith’s campaign for governor. Papaw Beshear is going to lose all kinds of Democratic votes to him. They’re operating in FEAR of Gatewood. [Press Release]
