Do you like to eat? Do you enjoy supporting local business and improving your community? Here’s your chance to literally put your money where your mouth is. The goal’s already been met (I think you can still give), but you can still eat there when the time comes. [The 'Ville Voice]
Of course Papaw Steve Beshear feels safe when trolling around the State Capitol. It might have something to do with the fact that he has a full-time Kentucky State Police security detail. It’s like the man has zero filter. [Ronnie Ellis]
Since 2007, the Commonwealth of Kentucky has spent $20,924,133.42 on cell phone charges and $47,750,392.74 on motor vehicles. Nice, right? [Ralph Long]

Here’s yet another look at the John Deasy – Robert Felner mess that’s bogging the Los Angeles Unified School District down these days. [4 LA Kids]

The City of Williamsburg is in violation of Kentucky’s open records law. Strange to see Jack Conway upholding open records laws since he didn’t when Todd Hollenbach’s scheming and excuses were involved. [Times-Tribune]

Did anybody ever think about contacting the civil rights division of the federal department of Education about Deasy? I mean, I am sure all the other doctoral candidates would have liked to have the same opportunities to bend the rules. Just a thought.

My state job asked me if I wanted a state supplied cell phone. I said no. I have a a big enough plan like most people. Even with work calls, I have minutes roll over each month.
I would rather not have/ give up my cell phone than have more furlough days.
Thank about it….

West End doctoral student: “I eventually got kicked out of the program.”
Dixie Hwy. doctoral student: “Why in hell did you?”
West End doctoral student: “I took too many wrong courses. Faulty advisement, I guess.”
Dixie Hwy. doctoral student: “The Deasy-Felner way would’ve been easier, less complicated, more fool-proof.”

Nice article on Deasy, but they left out the role that the University Provost and Dean of the Graduate School have in the awarding of degrees. It wasn’t just Felner.
