The number of officially unemployed Kentuckians rose 0.2% during the month of November to 10.2%, the first increase since May: That’s a 4.6% increase since January 2008 and does not include the countless thousands who have fallen off the unemployment rolls or those seriously underemployed.

Food Stamp Usage Peaked In November

SNAP – Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (Food Stamps) usage increased again in November by 0.6%. That means more 813,041 Kentuckians rely on the assistance to feed themselves and their families. As you can see, participation has increased more than 29% since January 2008.
