Hilarious “Firlough” Tree Spotted In Frankfort

December 20th, 2010 · 2 Comments

Haha, so, funny story…

State employees at the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet have a terrific sense of humor. Industrious workers erected this dead evergreen and the Governor’s Office has been freaking out over it:

Here’s what it says (if you don’t want to load the image):

The Douglas Fir-Lough Tree.

-SNIP-

At one time, these trees grew in 5% increments annually. The species has been in decline over the last several years. This year, the tree actually shrunk in size by 2.3% (or 6 days).

The future of this species is uncertain, and we can only hope it returns to previous levels of growth and prosperity in the coming years.

Happy Holidays!

What was that, again, about state workers being on Beshear’s side? Ha.

As word spread of the tree’s existence throughout Frankfort, workers stopped by in droves to have a laugh. Photos of it made it throughout the state through hundreds employees. Then word got back to Papaw’s people. They allegedly called the KYTC folks and “asked” (aka demanded) that the tree and sign be taken down.

Guess there’s no Christmas Spirit in the Governor’s Office this year.

Because that is hilarious.

That’s a great counseling technique that is widely used by the US Millitary. When you’re feeling down, morale low, nothing makes you feel better than a swift kick in the junk. Well, maybe waterboarding.

Folks the truth hurts, problem is that stevie will not listen to state employees that see waste in their jobs daily. I promise I can cut a million dollars from the budget from the corrections (corruption) department, with NO merit job losses, only 3 non merit losses and it will hurt only the departments ego. Those shrews will never allow that to happen! Call me steve if you got the courage!
