Secret Tape Leaked From Rep. Jenkins’ Cat Farm

December 14th, 2010 · 4 Comments

This has absolutely nothing to do with politics. It’s a movie that (seriously) is directed by cats. I was mesmerized for four entire minutes. Some folks fitted their cat overlords with tiny cameras and recorded footage for weeks on end. These are the highlights. Watch it ASAP. [Cheezburger]

Hey, Ryan, there’s more to this story. Positive, even. You should do more than scratch the surface. [Ryan Alessi]

Yup, only in Kentucky would you see something this racist. [Click the Clicky]

That Kentucky-American Water rate increase? The PSC approved $7 million less than they were requesting. Instead of the average bill rising from $27.46 to $37.95, it’ll rise to $35.40. Which is still a 29% increase. [Press Release]

Here’s what Mayor-elect Jim Gray had to say about it: “The water plant Kentucky American built in Owen County was extravagant and did little but secure higher profits at the expense of Lexington’s citizens. The Public Service Commission worked hard to get a good deal but it’s clear the current process is a deck stacked against the citizens. The best business-like approach at this point is to prepare for the 2015 franchise negotiations and drive a hard bargain for our taxpayers.” [Press Release]

Here’s crazy Michael Steele’s re-election website – complete with a scary video that autoplays. Consider yourself warned. [Click the Clicky]

Students questioned Ben Chandler about toxins in food. Can you imagine what it was like to have people more intelligent than him asking him questions? [Richmond Register]

December is ‘Give A Gift From Kentucky’ month and you should take part. Really. Send uniquely Kentucky gifts to your friends and loved ones this year.  I think I’ma do a gift guide of cool things from Kentucky, if you have any suggestions. [The Lane Report]

Who is the scrooge of the year? Mitch McConnell? Hyatt Hotels? Rite Aid? Publix? Giumarra Vineyards? Health Insurance & Pharmaceutical Industry? [Jobs With Justice]

It’s interesting seeing families I know involved in this effort by the Attorney General and other groups to combat prescription drug abuse. Both the victims and those fighting to stop it. Interesting how life goes full-circle. Coming from nothing in the hills to a point where you know elected officials in capacities like this is certainly a trip. Glad they’re trying to do good things.
