November 30th, 2010 · 18 Comments

No, they weren’t kidding. BIG TIME PEE ALERT.

Check this media advisory:

MEDIA ADVISORY
Nov. 30, 2010

Gov. Beshear to hold press conference

  • WHO: Gov. Steve Beshear
Cary Summers, consultant to Ark Encounter LLC
Mike Zovath, senior vice president of Answers in Genesis and head of the Creation Museum project
    Grant County Judge/Executive Darrell Link
  • WHAT: New northern Kentucky tourism and economic development project announcement
  • WHEN: Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. Eastern time
  • WHERE: State CapitolRoom 110
    Frankfort, Ky.

That creation museum theme park is totally happening.

Ride them dineysores, son!

UPDATE: Okay, I know Hanukkah isn’t the holiest time of year. But is it merely an accident that these folks would hold the presser on the first day of the holiday? Really? And does no one in the governor’s office think these things through? Why, you’d think a prominent Jew doesn’t oversee a majority of state government or something.

Goodness.

He’s in full re-election mode. Sadly, a good portion of Kentuckians will eat this shit up.

Beshear has lost my vote. Seriously. I cannot vote for a governor who would have anything to do with this.

Theme parks can be great generators of sales tax. Look at it from a revenue perspective, even if you’d rather a different subject matter.

I am sure Ed Hart is scratching his head…

    “Beshear, Meet Bryant”

Too bad William Jennings Bryant is not around to participate in this crapola. Seems he crossed over during another such fantasy scheme.

Why can’t we get a cool theme park like “Gator Land.”

Chanukah will not start until sundown on December 1st. At the time of the presser, it will be 24 Kislev, not 25 Kislev, which is the first day of Chanukah.

In terms Kentuckians understand: Tomorrow is the first day of the holiday.

Remember, Solzman: Not everyone is an extremist who refuses to turn on the lights on Saturday.

I’m sooo glad I live in Louisville. Louisville is not Kentucky. (and our “Mayor for Life” and next Lieutenant Governor is Jewish)

I’m Modern Orthodox, not Chabad or Haredi. They don’t touch the opposite genders. I wouldn’t stone a female that’s not modestly dressed like the Haredi are doing in Israel.

And unlike Chabad, I vote Democratic.

our …and next Lieutenant Governor is Jewish

    Richie Farmer’s Jewish? I had no clue…

Sounds like Beshear is cozy-ing up to the flat earthers and conservatives. Whatever. They won’t vote for him anyway. How about sticking to your core beliefs, Steve, and taking a firm stand on something for a change? That would get my respect and vote. For now, I’m on the fence.

    “Adam & Eve Revisited”

Eve bit the apple because she was hungry for genuine (not fantastical) knowledge. Thus, she would doubtless skip the Dinosaur Digs in northern KY if she were around today. Sorry, Adam; you gave up your rib to the wrong gal.

Lighten up, folks. The Gov is doing what govs do – helping a local organization get started on a new venture. It’s not using your taxes. Rather, it will generate some. As for Answers in Genesis – well, I’ve been to their Creation Museum. It’s actually pretty cool, worth spending an afternoon.

A thinking person would know they’ve applied for tax incentives, right?

And only a bullshit artist would pretend it’s okay to aid this sort of ignorant development with tax dollars, right?

Yeah, nothing to see here. Move along.

It’s actually pretty cool hysterical that people believe even 10% of what they have on dipslay there, worth spending an afternoon if you remember the actor in the Adam & Eve video is a porn star and need a good laugh.

    I fixed that for you.

Looking for someone with core values and beliefs? Look at Gatewood/Riley. They stand for something and are full of shit like Beshear. Williams and that Moffett guy.
