Debate Attacker Possibly Identified?

October 26th, 2010 · 36 Comments

Is the identity of the guy stomping the MoveOn girl? Is this him at 1:52?

If it’s him, he’s from Paris, KY. I’m not saying it is or it isn’t, but it certainly looks like the guy from last night:

UPDATE: Looks like the alleged curbstomper is part of a full-page spread in today’s H-L endorsing Rand Paul.

UPDATE: Definitely him.

ANOTHER UPDATE: The Lexington Division of Police confirm what we brought to you first:

The Lexington Division of Police has identified a suspect in connection to the October 25, 2010 assault of a woman at 600 Cooper Drive.

On the 25th, at approximately 7:00p.m., officers were alerted to an active assault at 600 Cooper Drive (Kentucky Educational Television Studios).

Officers responded to the scene of the assault and made contact with the victim. She identified herself as a member of MoveOn.org and stated she was assaulted while attempting to take a picture with candidate Rand Paul. Division of Police patrol officers took an assault report and forwarded the case to the Division of Police Bureau of Investigation.

Today, October 26, 2010, detectives identified the suspect, involved in the assault, as Tim Profitt. Mr. Profitt is currently being served with a criminal summons ordering him to appear before a Fayette County District Court Judge.

Looks like him. He was a big dude, and the woman was well subdued and wrestled to the ground (with her neck and shoulders on the edge of the kerb), when he stepped in and put his foot down on her. He did not stomp, but he pushed very hard against her neck head and shoulders. She had her hands behind her back so it must have hurt, a lot.

  • 2 JS // Oct 26, 2010 at 1:21 pm

In the video you can see the person who was holding her down was telling this guy to stop when he started stomping on her shoulder.

That’s probably him btw… looks like they have the same hat.

  • 3 JS // Oct 26, 2010 at 1:26 pm

Actually it looks like someone else was telling him to stop. It looks like the other person who stopped her wasn’t even there when the stomping started.

My donut eating buddies tell me they’ve already been to Tim’s house this morning, so no need to “go get him.”

The police can handle this! Since they couldn’t handle it last night.

Pretty irresponsible post here from an ethics standpoint, but it definitely looks a lot like him. Hat is the biggest red flag.

“I’d like to see Rand be able to educate the people about the truth of what he’s really saying instead of people listening to the negative ads.”

I guess he forgot to mention, “Now back to liberal head stomping!”

  • 8 jake // Oct 26, 2010 at 1:53 pm

    Irresponsible?

You do realize I’m being polite by not outright naming him, don’t you?

We’d already spoken with law enforcement before this went live.

  • 9 Strangeite // Oct 26, 2010 at 2:00 pm

Jake, I am assuming your politeness is why you are not allowing the link to his facebook profile that I posted earlier.

Well how about a link to where he is speaking in some capacity for the University of Kentucky baseball program?

  • 10 jake // Oct 26, 2010 at 2:07 pm

    Sure.

“The true change is coming … the fact that they’ve ignored the Constitution on the federal level so much really bothers me.”

Then he said, “Your free speech ends where my foot begins…More liberal head stomping!”

  • 13 Freemaninky // Oct 26, 2010 at 2:14 pm

Hmmm. I’m saying it is Eddie Montgomery. I knew that country music could get violent.

On a serious note…. stupid stupid stupid. Good to see the Paul Campaign disown him:
“The Paul for Senate campaign is extremely disappointed in, and condemns the actions of a supporter last night outside the KET debate. Whatever the perceived provocation, any level of aggression or violence is deplorable, and will not be tolerated by our campaign. The Paul campaign has disassociated itself from the volunteer who took part in this incident, and once again urges all activists — on both sides — to remember that their political passions should never manifest themselves in physical altercations of any kind.”

  • 14 NonTheProphet // Oct 26, 2010 at 2:38 pm

This guy will wish the police had taken him away once the internet gets ahold of him. I’m going to “donate” an hour of my time towards making sure he knows that hitting anyone is a bad thing to do.

  • 15 Strangeite // Oct 26, 2010 at 2:42 pm

    @FreemaninKy

Took long enough and only after it became clear that he wasn’t just a ordinary crazy Paulbot but a crazy Paulbot with a title in the campaign.

  • 16 Chris Mallory // Oct 26, 2010 at 2:55 pm

Of course the disguised loon wasn’t curbstomped and didn’t have her head kicked. But don’t let facts get in the way of mud slinging. Care to guess what would have happened if a disguised loon had charged Wrongway Conway through his phalanx of union goons?

  • 17 jake // Oct 26, 2010 at 3:00 pm

Or, you could watch the video and see that a foot is placed on her shoulders/neck and she is, indeed, pushed down – her head – onto the sidewalk.

There’s video from four or five sources.

  • 18 KB // Oct 26, 2010 at 3:35 pm

It’s definitely an assault. She’s subdued down on the ground, and then he steps on her head. Any time someone is down on the ground and is kicked, that is serious… more serious than kicking them when they are standing (legally speaking). Also, if she wasn’t seriously injured, it’s still an assault; What if they had socked her in the stomach, and later it turned out she was only “winded” or “lost her breath” but she’s okay now – still no assault? Injury is not the issue. He could have easily broken her neck or fractured her skull.

  • 19 JS // Oct 26, 2010 at 3:44 pm

AP on it – he apologizes, etc:

  • 20 skekze // Oct 26, 2010 at 3:51 pm

She wasn’t curbstomped, but he did put his foot on her and push her down with it like a dog. He stepped on her. He should have a visit from a man his own size, so he can be reminded of what violence really is. It ain’t stepping on a woman, who’s already restrained, ya coward. These good ole boys are just looking for an excuse to go back to hanging people, just remember we might be liberal, but not that much. I can shoot straight too, ya redneck inbred hillbilly flag-waving poor excuse for a man. If you think your constitution allows you to do anything you want, you’ll find that you can be buried with it.

  • 21 Angela // Oct 26, 2010 at 4:15 pm

“I’m sorry that it came to that, and I apologize if it appeared overly forceful, but I was concerned about Rand’s safety,” Profitt told The Associated Press.

Seriously!!?? He doesn’t expect anyone to actually believe that does he? Exactly how was Rand in any danger?? What is Profitt secret service now too. What a moron. If any of you live near Paris, KY please T.P. his house for me, include a bag of flaming dog poo since he likes to stomp on things so much.

  • 22 T. Bagg Profitt // Oct 26, 2010 at 4:33 pm

Doesn’t anyone else see that she was being moved into a positionwhere she could better worship Aquabuddha?

  • 23 Freemaninky // Oct 26, 2010 at 4:50 pm

    @strangite

They had a statement at 11:30 last night. Ask Jake. He gets the same stuff I do. To say he didn’t say anything is desperate and dishonest.

  • 24 gizmo // Oct 26, 2010 at 5:02 pm

I don’t think this incident is going to do much for that manly “Real Murican” image that the Teabaggers like to cultivate. Standing on the neck of a woman while a crowd holds her down isn’t all that chivalrous…

  • 25 anger // Oct 26, 2010 at 5:28 pm

i mean you’re all right. they didnt like stone her or anything. just a few people, wrestling a woman to the ground and pushing on her neck with their foot a little. nothing major.

tim, way to apologize for it looking badly and not, oh i dont know, stomping her neck with your foot. we need more men like you.

  • 26 Disgusted // Oct 26, 2010 at 6:07 pm

The Rand Wizard’s supporters strike again! What a bunch of thug crap eating pieces of crap.

  • 27 jtt // Oct 26, 2010 at 8:49 pm

Come on people, watch the video. I predict this case will just fade away because she isn’t gonna want to stick around until it goes to court. It won’t be assault if she can’t point to any specific injury from the guy putting his foot on her. Cops do it all the time to hold someone down. I’m told that the so called assailants were the ones calling for the police. The cops, by the way, didn’t take out ANY criminal action, they couldn’t, it is a misdemeanor assault – only she could swear out a complaint. But question is, will she come back and testify?

  • 28 Terri // Oct 26, 2010 at 10:04 pm

Cops do it all the time to hold someone down.

    Well in THAT CASE!!!

  • 29 tbrauch // Oct 26, 2010 at 10:37 pm

Cops do it all the time to hold someone down.

I’m pretty sure, maybe I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure our socialist police force goes through training to learn how to subdue someone. They don’t throw someone to the ground and then stomp down on her neck even when she’s already restrained.

Okay, well, the Rodney King cops did. But, that’s not a comparison you want to be making.

Whoa whoa whoa, why do you wanna let the government meddle in this affair? I say we let the free market decide!

  • 31 tbrauch // Oct 27, 2010 at 1:31 pm

I’m told that the so called assailants were the ones calling for the police

There’s a report on TPM saying the assailants were calling for police TO STOP THE HEAD STOMPING. That is, they were afraid for the women.

Ron Paul is a thug, so why should we be surprised that his son is too.

Ron Paul was at the CPAC meeting a few months ago with his hired thuggies from his Liberty Foundation he started with the stolen presidential donations (remember when he raised $60 million and then quit the race two days before the second round of primaries so he could go back to Texas and run for Congress, and used the Presidential donations to pay for it?)

Ron Paul was there at the CPAC meeting sitting smugly with his hired thuggies while they shouted down the prolife speaker and later shouted down Bob Barr who spoke out against torture.

Ron Paul’s campaign director in election 2008 died of AIDS, and Ron Paul is not a conservative. He is a plant of the Illuminati, and his job is to lead the patriots off the cliff. The gold standard is the LAST thing we need. Check out Bill Still’s latest documentary, The Secret of Oz, and find out the truth that the gold standard is exactly what the Banksters in London are hoping will be the public choice, because THEY own all the gold.

Ron Paul and Rand Paul are POISON. I campaigned for Ron Paul because I trusted Alex Jones who endorsed him. After living through that fiasco of an election, I know what kind of man Ron Paul is now, and also his son Rand.

They are all thuggies. It’s no surprise their supporters stomp on the heads of women.

Bunch of anarchists and Libertines, want to be able to smoke pot in public and throw their weight around. There’s a REASON why so many of us call Ron Paul (and Rand Paul) supporters PAULTARDS.

  • 33 cab // Oct 27, 2010 at 6:27 pm

Please don’t take this as my supporting of Conway. They are both no good.

Isn’t there somebody else you people in Kentucky can vote for? (not that it matters who you vote for because the crooks will make the votes come out the way they want)

I think the whole thing is a big dog and pony show. Just a big scripted stupid charade. We have no free choice, we have no more constitutional republic.

All the people in politics are crooks. You have to be a crook to get backing. Best advice I have for anybody is to just try to move out of the country.

  • 34 jake // Oct 27, 2010 at 6:32 pm

    Illuminati.

    HAHAHA.

  • 35 cab // Oct 27, 2010 at 6:57 pm

And do you also not believe that Bohemian Grove exists, or the Bilderbergers, or the CFR, or the Freemasons?

I guess you are one of those people who don’t believe in conspiracies, unless it is the one about the man directing young Muslim men with box cutters on 9/11 from a cave in Afghanistan, and you are one who thinks that buildings go splat at the speed of gravity because there are small dying fires going in the upper floors.

    HAHAHA

If you haven’t figured out that both parties are owned and work for the same people, then you need to start paying closer attention to what’s going on.
