The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is again hitting Rand Paul on his support of a $2,000 Medicare deductible:

This obviously tests high in focus groups and polling, but will it be enough for Conway to beat Paul?

Paul not from KY?!? Jack must be a complete dumbass or have zero integrity. True Paul wasn’t born here but he has lived here for two decades.
On the other hand, what does it say about Conway’s love of KY that he went away to Duke for his undergrad and George Washington for Law school? He didn’t give a shit about KY until he needed a place to run for office.

Jack Conway has done more to solidify my support for Rand Paul in the past few days than Rand Paul has done in the past year.

Noah,
If Conway has done more in the last few days to help your support of Rand Paul, apparently you were not a strong supporter anyway.
I just had a friend murdered in Eastern KY this past week and he was killed by a guy on drugs. Drugs arent a problem in EKY according to some senate candidates though huh? Lets let the local governments take care of this problem. Grow up people, this is real stuff!

James R. very sorry about your loss.

No of course not, but I was at best a weak supporter of Paul.

Thanks. It was extremely hard to call his wife and know what to say to her and her two young kids….

Noah, I’m confused… perhaps it’s because you are applying two different sets of standards. Let me summarize your first post:
– Rand Paul, not born in Kentucky but lived here for 2 decades = Made in Kentucky.
– Jack Conway, born in Kentucky but left the state to go to college = Made in China.
So, where did Rand Paul go to school? Is his name hanging up in UK’s alumni hall somewhere? If you are claiming Jack lost his residency when he left the state for college, shouldn’t that same standard apply to Rand?
How long has Jack lived in Kentucky? How long has Jack paid Kentucky state taxes? If you are claiming living here for 20 years, even if you didn’t go to school here, qualifies you as a resident, shouldn’t that same standard apply to Jack?
I know, it’s easy to change the standards when it makes your case, but let’s try to throw consistent bricks from our glass houses.

Little Randy wants to raise the Medicare Deductible to $2000
The Part A (Hospital portion) of Medicare currently has a $1100 deductible BUT
The Part A Deductible is NOT AN ANNUAL DEDUCTIBLE it is a HOSPITAL STAY DEDUCTIBLE. Every time you are admitted to a hospital if you have been out of a hospital for 60+ days you HAVE ANOTHER DEDUCTIBLE
So Little Randy wants to raise the deductible to $2000 PER HOSPITAL STAY. so a senior could pay $4000, $6000, $8000 even $10000 and $12000 a year if they were unfortunate enough to be sick enough to be in the hospital with more than 60 days between stays
Little Randy..makes his MONEY OFF of Medicare as an eye doctor but doesn’t care about the patients ability to pay, after all HE DOES HIS WORK out of hospitals. So the deductible for Part B the doctor portion of Medicare is $155 per year
Or maybe THAT IS THE DEDUCTIBLE he wants to raise
Either $900 more per hospital stay or $1,845 more per year on Part B either way Little Randy shows himself to be a callous, hard hearted, spoiled little brat whose only criteria for a decision is his “I got mine, screw you if you don’t have yours” philosophy

My point is simple, they are both from KY. Rand moved here 20 years ago when he married a KY girl and started a professional medical practice. Jack was born here and left, but returned when he needed to start building a professional political practice.
They both went to undergrad and professional school out of state. In fact it appears from re-reading their bios closely that they were actually at Duke together…Paul was in medical school there from 84-88 and did his residency there until 93 (so i guess he’s lived in KY 17 years not 20 as i supposed). Conway was an undergrad there from 87-91.

Dear idiot -
A lot of fucking people go away to college and come back when they’re finished. Deal with it.

@Noah, no, they are not both from Kentucky. Jack Conway is a true native of Kentucky. He was born here. Rand Paul, as you stated, moved here. Big difference!
