Giving away tickets to attractions in our own back yard is one of my favorite things to do. So I’d like to do that very thing again. We’ve had great success with previous contests – Dracula and The Kite Runner – both terrific productions at Actors Theatre.

The next give-away is for The Mystery of Irma Vep: A Penny Dreadful – a funny spoof of Gothic dramz. Here’s what Actors had to say: A lovelorn werewolf, a campy vampire and an Egyptian princess with a secret greet Lord Edgar’s new bride as she tries to escape the deadly fate of his first wife in this sidesplitting spoof of Gothic melodrama. This madcap menagerie of characters is played by just two actors, in a frightfully funny tale of terror—by the man who invented “Theatre of the Ridiculous”—filled with thrills, laughter and extravagant showmanship.
The production of Irma runs October 5 through October 30.
Here’s what you have to do in order to win: leave a comment on this post, send me an email or message me on Twitter. Tell me why you’re interested in seeing the show. I’ll hold a drawing this weekend so you’ll have adequate time for planning. Please be sure to use your actual email address in the proper comment field so I may get in touch with winners.
Two of you will receive one voucher for two tickets each (an $88 value!) to be used Sunday through Thursday or during Saturday matinees. Valid October 5 through October 17. If you’re not a fancy winner, please consider buying tickets and supporting one of Louisville’s gems.
Good luck!

There are about 6,300 other posts regarding politics and media?

I think it is great that a high traffic blog is promoting Louisville’s Arts — a post awat from politics isn’t all that bad. The Arts are a great treasure for us here. I’ll be at the play next week with the NeXt! Board and the Fund for the Arts.

Sounds like great fun! Don’t enter me in the contest – I’ll buy tickets.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I love theater and don’t get to see it often enough.

Yes, I’d like to win tickets. Why? Because it’s the perfect foil to Big Blue Madness and/or the World Equestrian Games. Sometimes you just need a break from Lexington, and it sounds like a heap of fun.

Put me in the drawring. Because I like the artwork, I am broke, and I could use some ridiculous in my life.

I would LOVE to win tickets. I love Halloween, love horror movies and books and spoofs thereof, AND my 5th wedding anniversary is Oct. 29. Oh, and I’m running a bit short of funds, too — government work and all that.

Sounds fun! and I like that you are mixing up the politics with a little art. A nice diversion from elections and mud-slinging.

Hi Jake. Please put me in your drawing. Saw Dracula last year and loved it, but think a good laugh would be a nice alternative.
