Rand Paul Got Caught Openly Lying Yet Again

August 4th, 2010 · 17 Comments

Rand Paul’s campaign said it just didn’t notice when various media outlets reported that Paul had a bachelors from Baylor:

Other media organizations that have reported Paul graduated from Baylor include The Associated Press, The Courier-Journal of Louisville, TIME and U.S. News & World Report.

Stafford said Paul and his campaign have not asked publications to run corrections because the campaign was not aware of the erroneous claim, which can also be found on several other Web sites, including Wikipedia, WhoRunsGov.com and Project Vote Smart.

“To my knowledge, we’ve never noticed it,” Stafford said. “I hope this story sets the record straight.”

But who believes that?

Here’s proof Rand Paul’s campaign not only knew about and read Ryan Alessi’s profile, it promoted it on Facebook and Twitter:

Yup. Proclaimed he held a bachelors from Baylor University.

Here’s what the information looked like in the story’s bio box:

The campaign knew what was going on and they allowed it to continue in perpetuity.

Just how closely did the Paul Campaign pay attention to media coverage? See a list – along with material from former campaign manager David Adams – after the jump…

Oh, this is good – it seems Rand Paul is into padding his resume’. Not only is he prone to sticking his foot in his mouth up to the hip, now he’s engaged in lying about his academic history. Campaigns have ended for less.

I already knew he stood for nothing since he keeps flip flopping about issues. Now we learn he is lying about his education. Are we to believe anything he says?
Send this guy back to Bowling Green for good.

Who cares where he went to undergraduate school? He did finish MD at Duke, and that’s what most folks go by professionally–their last school, the one that granted your terminal degree….

An MD hangs his physician’s credentials in his office. Undergraduate school rarely is mentioned….

Puzzling that a grad from a prestigious school like Duke would fudge on such a trivial item. Why perpetuate fiction when there is no need to?

    Exactly.

The actual story is a good one and would be pretty well-received by Kentuckians.

Unfortunately, the campaign knowingly perpetuated horse shiz.

    Rules are for FOOLS

Dontcha know? If Randy wants to do it, he does, rules, schmools

And if he HAS to he will just make up his own set

Rules? Rules? We don’t need no stinken RULES?

Oh, I think there’s a good story behind this, just as there is behind Paul’s “Board Certification”.

We need some good detective work done here!!!

This wouldn’t be a big deal, if there wasn’t a lie about it.

And the “uh, we were just too busy to notice” line is another lie. If you look at Randy’s wikipedia page, it has been edited hundreds of times to cast him in a positive light since his campaign started, and judging by the editors’ names, people on his staff. And yet, with those hundreds of edits, changing it back anytime someone said something unflattering, they never once thought to check his education?

Either way, we end up with a G-D Dukie! Somehow I don’t see Paul being admitted to an elite med school absent a bachelors degree as a huge issue for voters.

A bigger story would be what happened to his hospital priviledges, his malpractice insurance policy, any past problems with patients who thought he was “Board Certified” only to discover he’d circumvented the process and let his old Board Certification expire.
Did he create liability for hospitals or insurance companies with the self-created board certification ruse?
Surely he had to sign agreements specifying he was Board Certified to practice at those hospitals? For them to find out that his board was a fake one is huge.

Yep, Rand Paul is totally responsible for the media and Wikipedia. Doesn’t matter he nor RandPaul2010 ever said anything about graduating from Baylor. The AP was wrong and that means Rand Paul is bad.

    Your worst attempt yet Jake.

  • 11 jake // Aug 5, 2010 at 1:28 pm

Nice try, “Dan,” but look at the screenshots above.

The campaign DID promote the misinformation.

Keep spinning when the shit is right in front of your face.

Looks like you were wrong about David Adams too:

All right, I’ll say it again, even though you’re apparently as dumb as Mica Sims:

    READ BEFORE COMMENTING.

    Look at the screenshots.

The campaign – with David Adams at the helm as campaign manager – DID promote the misinformation.

And this, folks, is why they’re called Paultards.

  • 14 Bill Adkins // Aug 5, 2010 at 10:49 pm

Ouch, ‘dumb as Mica Sims’ — why don’t you call Dan a son of a bitch and get it over with?

  • 15 MARRYlarry // Aug 6, 2010 at 2:44 am

REALLY????? You are SO interested in the credentials of Rand Paul, but why aren’t you digging into the credentials of our president — especially his transcripts from college that show he was receiving aid as a “FOREIGN STUDENT.”

  • 16 jake // Aug 6, 2010 at 8:46 am

    HAHAHA.

    Another mouth-breathing birther has surfaced!

  • 17 Larry West // Aug 6, 2010 at 10:03 am

Marry: You might want to visit http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/birthers/occidental.asp

The article does state that Obama won’t release his Occidental transcript for some reason (My guess is that it will reveal that his grades were as bad or worse than Bush Jr., but I of course have no way of knowing) which only fuels the speculations.
