My vote goes to Jefferson County PVA Tony Lindauer. In his desperation to build name ID he launched a series of press conferences at random places across downtown Louisville to tout that he was doing his job in the final 4 months before being up for re-election. His Amnesty program allowed people who were fraudulently claiming the Homestead Exemption to turn themselves in without paying back taxes or penalty. Then he gets on TV and banters about the success of the program because over 300 people took the deal and added by his estimate $100,000 in taxes to the rolls for the upcoming assessment year. What about the projected 1.2 MILLION per year that he has allowed to slip away over the past 4 years he has been in office? How much better off would our schools/fire departments/and city budget be if this revenue had been collected?

Jerry Abramson for his dealings with Cordish. I am of course just speculating here, but I wonder why everything regarding the deal has been swept under the rug. If there is nothing to hide, then why hide it?

John Yarmuth, the congressman who donates his entire salary to charity every year? I thought that the right-wing talking point was that health care reform was HURTING businesses like hospitals and nursing homes and such? So that’s not really the case and John is merely lining his pockets?

BEYOND A DOUBT, it SHOULD be John Yarmuth who has been enriching himself and benefitting his family’s business (that he has MILLIONS invested in) all the while he’s been in Congress. He should have recused himself from voting, but instead he has been SPONSORING bills increasing Medicare payments for “Almost Family” — a business his brother owns. Maxine Waters is “small potatoes” compared to this one.

Quick comment about the Party: The folks I spoke with, as I often said, would not support Ken Herndon. Only one of them indicated that they’d ever spoken to Jim King and they didn’t discuss David James.

I can’t prove he didn’t have influence, but I don’t think he did.

king’s financial support to his daughter’s judicial win has been in question in terms of campaign fundraising ethics. he says the gifts were innocent and he wasn’t aware that he broke any rules. some seem to think otherwise and an investigation could follow…

to say king has no influence over the local democratic party is so not true. his aide is a precinct representative and has a weighted vote with the party, though he did get a vote on the party’s pick of david james. however, king is well adored in his council district – and should be for the work he has done there – and those who live in king’s district that did get a vote put their money on james. and after the vote, king was the only sitting council member who came to party headquarters to congratulate james.

i’m not suggesting that he SHOULD be investigated for these reasons. i’m suggesting that he is LIKELY to be….in this city those who have money who are made men and make moves accordingly are often swept off their thrown as quickly as possible. someone will try to do him in just because….

Nomination: Jim King – just because he’s got too much bread…the issues with his daughter’s campaign and his influence in the selection of the Metro Council District 6 appointment (both the Council and Democratic Party processes).
