See how great the poo is? Everybody wants it, just because, amen.

Which elected/public officials, candidates, reporters, public figures and so forth are absolutely full of it? Your input is needed!

Each day for the next however (it’s tough to count) many days, we’ll announce a new award category and you’ll submit an unlimited number of nominees.

Previous Categories:

  • Day 1: Person Responsible For Legislation (or Legislation-Related Mess) Requiring the Most Lubricant
  • Day 2: Reporter Most Likely To Make You Kick Your Television, Burn Your Newspaper, Smash Your Radio Or Toss Your Computer
  • Day 3: Most Pee-Worthy Abuse Of Twitter By A Political Figure Acting Like A 12-Year-Old Girl

Be sure to nominate someone for those categories.

After all nominations are received for all announced categories, we’ll announce the winners and send the golden piles of magic along to eagerly awaiting recipients. Please remember to make your nomination as scandalous and inappropriate as possible.

Today’s category is:

Submit your nomination – along with your reasoning (this is required) – in the comments. Keep it hilarious.

I think Todd Hollenbach will be investigated over the Mary John Celletti’s firing and altered timesheets for starters.

I nominate whoever Dr. Daniel Mongiardo is running against in the next election.

Jack Conway for vote buying in Perry and Floyd Counties.

    Prove it.

The Family Foundation… not the org itself, but one of their lackeys. It won’t be long until one of them is eventually discovered with either a rent boy, a mistress (or mister), or a prostitution ring. “Family Leaders” have been caught in scandals more and more often in the past year, so here’s hoping our good ol family friends jump on the bandwagon.

Rand Paul, for something related to Medicare. Arrogance betrays.

I almost wanted to pick Louisville’s Joseph McCarthy (you know who you are), but as a politician, he’s too lightweight. (Jab!)

How about “Mayor for Life Jerry”? He will be convicted for the 4th St. Live shady dealings and be sent to Baltimore to do hard time after he looses his bid for Lt. Gov.

I have to ask this question: if Conway wins the Senate race, how is the new AG selected? Will the governor appoint? A special election would seem to me to be unlikely, since the general election is next year.

  • 9 wondering // Jul 29, 2010 at 7:12 pm

And yes, there is a reason for me asking this question in this thread.

I also vote for Jerry Abramson (probably the only time I’d vote for that @$$#*!& politician).

  • 11 Ashley // Jul 30, 2010 at 9:01 am

I think either Abramson or Beshear. Stumbo needs one of them to go so he can run for Gov.

If you nominate someone, you’ve gotta tell us why. Otherwise we have no idea?

  • 13 Leslie Holland // Jul 30, 2010 at 10:51 am

Steve Henry. And if you need a rationale, just call me. (Would love to make the nomination funny, but it’s just too real and pathetic.)

I see no one was able to answer my question about who becomes AG if Conway wins the Senate race. So my nomination will be contingent on him winning the Senate seat and Beshear appointing his replacement. That being said, my nomination is any elected Republican who runs for governor as a serious, legitimate candidate, to include David Williams or Richie Farmer. My thinking is that since Beshear is considered so vulnerable, the AG he appoints will go into that office under orders to dig dirt and smear any serious Republican candidate who might emerge from the primary to challenge Beshear. Should Farmer get the nomination, I would not be surprised at all to see the Beshear-appointed AG try to initiate an investigation, convene a grand jury and get indictments on something, anything, to try to discredit him. Same goes for Williams. Call me crazy, but I think Beshear would be that desperate to keep his job. It’s not like the AG’s office has never been politicized before.

Mayor Jerry for sure!….Once the election is over and if the only man running with real balls wins!….The corruption will be exposed. Jerry goes to jail & Traughber can be his real bitch as he has been doing the dirty work with him all along.

  • 16 chief // Jul 31, 2010 at 12:33 am

NO DOUBT in my mind Jerry Abramson is at the TOP of the list, or should be! What a liar & a Crook, truly hope that he is investigated, charged convicted of all the shady deals.

  • 17 C. Herron // Aug 3, 2010 at 4:32 pm

Re: wondering’s comment – do you really think beshear is that smart?

Nomination: Jim King – just because he’s got too much bread…the issues with his daughter’s campaign and his influence in the selection of the Metro Council District 6 appointment (both the Council and Democratic Party processes).

  • 18 jake // Aug 3, 2010 at 4:40 pm

    C. Herron: Need specifics.

Too much bread? Which alleged campaign issues?

Two fair points, if you elaborate.

As far as the local Democratic Party goes, Jim has no influence.

  • 19 C. Herron // Aug 3, 2010 at 11:20 pm

king’s financial support to his daughter’s judicial win has been in question in terms of campaign fundraising ethics. he says the gifts were innocent and he wasn’t aware that he broke any rules. some seem to think otherwise and an investigation could follow…

to say king has no influence over the local democratic party is so not true. his aide is a precinct representative and has a weighted vote with the party, though he did get a vote on the party’s pick of david james. however, king is well adored in his council district – and should be for the work he has done there – and those who live in king’s district that did get a vote put their money on james. and after the vote, king was the only sitting council member who came to party headquarters to congratulate james.

i’m not suggesting that he SHOULD be investigated for these reasons. i’m suggesting that he is LIKELY to be….in this city those who have money who are made men and make moves accordingly are often swept off their thrown as quickly as possible. someone will try to do him in just because….

  • 20 jake // Aug 3, 2010 at 11:33 pm

Quick comment about the Party: The folks I spoke with, as I often said, would not support Ken Herndon. Only one of them indicated that they’d ever spoken to Jim King and they didn’t discuss David James.

I can’t prove he didn’t have influence, but I don’t think he did.

BEYOND A DOUBT, it SHOULD be John Yarmuth who has been enriching himself and benefitting his family’s business (that he has MILLIONS invested in) all the while he’s been in Congress. He should have recused himself from voting, but instead he has been SPONSORING bills increasing Medicare payments for “Almost Family” — a business his brother owns. Maxine Waters is “small potatoes” compared to this one.

  • 22 jake // Aug 6, 2010 at 8:49 am

Oh, look! The mouth-breather is taking a break from complaining about Obama’s birth certificate and is taking part in a Todd Lally circle jerk.

John Yarmuth, the congressman who donates his entire salary to charity every year? I thought that the right-wing talking point was that health care reform was HURTING businesses like hospitals and nursing homes and such? So that’s not really the case and John is merely lining his pockets?

    Hahahaha.

  • 23 Larry West // Aug 6, 2010 at 10:20 am

Jerry Abramson for his dealings with Cordish. I am of course just speculating here, but I wonder why everything regarding the deal has been swept under the rug. If there is nothing to hide, then why hide it?

  • 24 Cole Thornton // Aug 6, 2010 at 11:03 pm

My vote goes to Jefferson County PVA Tony Lindauer. In his desperation to build name ID he launched a series of press conferences at random places across downtown Louisville to tout that he was doing his job in the final 4 months before being up for re-election. His Amnesty program allowed people who were fraudulently claiming the Homestead Exemption to turn themselves in without paying back taxes or penalty. Then he gets on TV and banters about the success of the program because over 300 people took the deal and added by his estimate $100,000 in taxes to the rolls for the upcoming assessment year. What about the projected 1.2 MILLION per year that he has allowed to slip away over the past 4 years he has been in office? How much better off would our schools/fire departments/and city budget be if this revenue had been collected?
