Rand Paul Loves Christian Home Schoolers

June 28th, 2010 · 5 Comments

On Friday evening we sent a fancy videographer (*COUGH* Joe, of Barefoot & Progressive *COUGH*) to the Christian Home Schoolers Conference in Louisville. None other than Republican U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul was making a guest appearance before the tens of home schoolers and it was all caught on tape.

He spoke of giving Attorney General Jack Conway a hard time, supporting the separation of church and state (because he believes churches should be able to speak about what they believe is sinful and who people should be able to associate with… like non-whites, cripples and homos, right?), A Kentucky Newspaper making his life difficult by plagiarizing stories about him, hating George W. Bush’s Faith-Based Initiative, immigration, the United Nations making it illegal to discipline children and hilariously refusing to answer a question about how old he believes the Earth to be.

Tons of fun, so give it a watch.

Part 1:

It’s just beginning to get ripe.

View Part 2, including the question & answer session when Paul refuses to answer a question about the age of the Earth, after the jump…

So from this I see the following….

1 Rand doesn’t appear to believe creationist bullshit (point for him)
    2. A non profit appears to be endorsing a candidate. Paging the IRS
    3. The non career politician got thanked for his lengthy political service.

Well, dang, Jake! And here I thought you were never going to have anything worthwhile here again!

I guess I’m going to have to link to you, fair is fair, and I haven’t seen these anywhere else. (Which is really surprising, frankly.)

Thanks Jake, I’m a big Rand fan, and his socially progressive values are made clear as he barely manages to stomach the backward Christianistas in this crowd.

Please, he’s a creationist, like his father.
