Oh, KDP, You Are So Embarrassingly Hilarious

Haha, so, funny story. The new KDP chair contributed to Ernie Fletcher and to Mitch McConnell. And you people wonder why I absolutely crack the eff up when anybody suggest the KDP is a legit, functional party these days. [Bluegrass Politics]

The AP might have its faults, but it’s one of the last vestiges of credibility for CNN. They simply don’t have the resources to generate enough reliable content internally. At least they’ll still have Reuters. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them tapping CBN as a source considering the direction they’ve been going with the hiring of Erickson.

    Last vestiges of credibility?

That’s not saying much – especially since the AP has axed nearly every single one of its great (highest paid) reporters.

In Kentucky we’re left with stenographers who deliberately ignore pertinent information.

Jake – Many “great” and “highest paid” have been axed in every profession. My point is that CNN will not be filling the gap with either great OR highly paid reporters.

Deciding what is pertinent is the age old question, isn’t it?

I’m glad we have you and other blogs to bring us your view of what is pertinent. It helps fill the gap.

My point is that CNN could produce its own news. Easily.

“My point is that CNN could produce its own news. Easily.”

Well, I guess that’s what they’re planning to do. We’ll see how easy it is for them. I won’t know from their TV content because I removed them from my channel line-up in March over this Erickson thing. I do, however, listen to CNN radio news updates on the internet. Their radio staff seems competent and professional.

The new chair of the Democratic Party needs to be immediately removed by the Executive Committee. He is not eligible to hold party office in accordance with party by laws. What was the Governor thinking when he recommended this McConnell supporter?
The last two party chairs were an embarrassment. Now we go one step below that by installing a McConnell supporter in the highest office in the Democratic party. This is slap in the face to all of us Democrats who know and despise McConnell for what he represents.
Is there no true Democrats left in Frankfort or has everyone just gone brain dead?

If TallGuy is so dead set against Pole licking, I hope he never falls for a girl named Wojohowitz. That would be a deal breaker.

vernon: You answered your own question without realizing. The governor didn’t think. That’s why he was appointed (“voted” in) KDP chair.

The governor’s crew needed a place to stick Daniel. For nearly six months they’ve been talking about it. But they needed some place where he’d draw a salary. Paying the KDP chair and installing him was a nice way of getting him out of their hair yet keeping him under their thumb.

    Jake,
I guess you have noticed the ties with Jonathan Miller and the KDP leaders. Who really is in control, Miller or Beshear?

What does Miller have on Beshear?

  • 10 jake // Jun 22, 2010 at 11:21 am

Everyone is connected in some way.

I’ve been a critic of Jonathan’s, but I don’t think there’s anything major on that front.

Lt. Dan said he had something on Papaw. Why won’t he spill the beans?

If people have something on the man, they need to spill it. He’s our governor.

  • 11 Belknap Banquo // Jun 22, 2010 at 11:28 am

Jonathan Miller also illegally hired a Republican on his staff but was allowed to “rectify” the situation with new paperwork after the fact. No Grand Jury needed, of course, just a compliant Personnel Board.

  • 12 Thunder Storm // Jun 22, 2010 at 11:45 am

Well Hell, Beshear has all kinds of Republicans on his staff, many hired by Fletcher himself, all the while many good Democrats raised and donated money to him.

If Beshear wants loyalty he needs to fire those republicans and all Dems who donated money to Fletcher. Not because of party affiliation but because they are only concerned for themselves and feathering their own nests. Not Kentucky’s best interests.

Beshear needs to show loyalty before he gets ours. I want action, not talk.

  • 13 room110 // Jun 22, 2010 at 1:26 pm

he also fired many republicans…some of whom were well qualified and were not involved in the election whatsoever. Thunderstorm, are you advocating that he only hire people based on their donations or efforts to get him elected? Don’t mind if he hires supporters but shouldn’t they also be qualified for the particular position? If not qualified, then seems to be part of the same old thing in Frankfort and that’s part of the problem.

jake- that “tin foil” comment was priceless

  • 15 Room 999 // Jun 22, 2010 at 2:34 pm

I’ll answer for TS. Yes Beshear should.

The Democratic Party needs to be brought back together, then we need Democrats to carry out the Democratic agenda while a Democratic Governor is in office.

It was obvious as the nose on your face that Democrat non-merits did not carry out the Fletcher agenda, they stymied it. Or did nothing except drew a paycheck.

If I’m Governor, I’ll have nothing but supporters in non-merit positions. If they do not tow the line, I’d immediately fire them and get others in.

MC Hammer and Joan Jett???? SERIOUSLY? That’s it?

What’s up with the state fair concerts this year? It used to be they had a full roster every year. This year looks like they got the Equestrian Games rejects.
