Paul’s Folks Don’t Grasp Appearance Of Impropriety

June 9th, 2010 · 13 Comments

What is it with Rand Paul’s supporters consistently ignoring campaign finance regulation and do silly crap like this?

Check the email we received about an incident that took place in Lexington over the weekend:

Saturday evening around 6:30 at the intersection of Jefferson and Main there were two huge utility trucks forming a right angle along the curb. They were digging into the street. I don’t know if it was electrical work or sewer or what. But apparently they were private contractors doing work for the city.

Both trucks had huge “Rand Paul for Senate 2010″ signs on the front and sides of their trucks. You would have thought it was a Rand Paul rally…

I called the mayor’s office yesterday. Someone in their legal department gave me a number in Frankfort. I still haven’t gotten an answer regarding the propriety – or shall we say impropriety – of this.

Maybe some day they’ll get it.

This is the same (limited) element which thinks it’s ok to pick and choose whom is covered by the Civil Rights Act, to structure government so certain people have no voice or safety net, to use an artist’s copyrighted music without permission, to send hateful gay-bashing emails and now evidently to use public, tax-payer funded contracts to promote Rand Paul.

The sad part is that individually, these people are probably “good” people, and would be horrified to think of themselves as bigots, thieves of copyrighted material and public monies, as ignorant or hateful.

They just want smaller government. Yet they haven’t an iota of the complexity of accomplishing that or of any ethical breaches in their mindset or action. Bottom line: there is no Democracy in Rand Paul’s world.

The same trucks with the same signs were also at the location on Monday evening. I saw them on my way home from work.

Isn’t Rand the one who is proposing that we pass a law saying anyone who gets government contracts can’t lobby or promote?

Nice to see that his supporters really get his message.

What’s the difference between PRIVATE companies having whatever they want on their trucks and a union plastering a “Jack Conway” sign on their building so that all who travel on the Watterson near Taylor Blvd. (a public highway that would not allow yard signs to be posted on it otherwise) are forced to see it?
If you’re complaining about this minute a matter, then the worst of the Paul problems must be over with (or else it’s a slow news day).

Larry, do you ever understand anything relating to campaign finance and the appearance of impropriety?

If a contractor is on the public dole doing PUBLIC work? Get real. You can’t promote a candidate for elected office while conducting that business.

You need to get your panties out of a twist over criticism of Liberty Christ. It’s only going to get worse. He’s a candidate. EVERYTHING is going to be scrutinized. He, himself, asked as much.

Why is it that when I hear of the appearance of impropriety I keep waiting for Hillary Clinton to come around the corner?

“What’s the difference between PRIVATE companies ”

How PRIVATE is a company that is having their bills paid by the taxpayers?

“union plastering a “Jack Conway” sign on their building so that all who travel on the Watterson near Taylor Blvd. ”

Clearly you haven’t not made the drive to Cincinnati on I-71 anytime in the last 4 years to see the huge Ron Paul and now Rand Paul sign displayed prominently in the Rumpke landfill near the I-71/I-75 merge.

Rand Paul & his bedbugs – including David Adams & his white supremacist loving cousin Jesse Benton – are more sleazy than they are corrupt … and GOD knows they ARE CORRUPT.

One of Paul’s bedbugs have ILLEGALLY put a campaign sticker on the utility pole at the intersection of Bardstown Road & Trevillian Way.

It is AGAINST the law to put campaign signs on public utilities. I have reported it to City Call and have tried reaching the Dept. Of Transportation (District 5) but have only gotten voice mail.

Tell Rand Paul to STOP violating State Laws via his campaign & via his bedbugs.

Paul signs near a landfill. Symbolic?

  • 12 Belknap Banquo // Jun 9, 2010 at 1:33 pm

What about a sign on a pole at the corner of Longest and Bardstown that says Vote For Paul and See Eddie and the F#ckmonkeys at the Tap Room? Or one at Grinstead and Bardstown that says Vote For Paul and Get Your Titties Tatted At Rosie’s-Two For One Tuesdays?

Eddie and the F#ckmonkeys? Isn’t that the name that Eddie and the Cruisers took when they went death metal? Kinda like “Diamond Darrell” changing his name to “Dimebag Darrell” when Pantera changed from hair metal to thrash.
