On May 27th, 491 pounds of of marijuana was seized by police in Nicholasville.

According to a press release, the action was the result of a tip received by Lexington police from an informant, which led to a controlled drug purchase. This action resulted in the issuance of a search warrant carried out by the KSP’s Drug Enforcement Special Investigations East unit and the Nicholasville Police Department.

The weed had been processed and packaged for resale in one-pound amounts.
