Jack Conway Holds Massive Moderates Lead

May 28th, 2010 · 14 Comments

What? Jack Conway holds leads among centrists?

You don’t say:

In places like Kentucky and Missouri, where the GOP will be slightly favored to win this fall, Robin Carnahan and Jack Conway lead their respective Republican opponents by 40 points with moderates.

Jack Conway leads Rand Paul 60 to 20 when it comes to moderates.

The Paulbots can’t spin this one, cause PPP was David Adams’ favorite pollster during the primary.

I don’t know how you figure this is great news for Rand Paul. I guess one has to live in oblivion when all else fails.

All about who will turn out. Grayson had a HUGE lead with moderates and Liberals in the GOP primary.Lots of Blue Dogs, Indys, and Conservatives won’t hold their noses and vote for the Conman. In terms of policy, Jack would make Obama look like William F. Buckley. That’s why RP’s still up in every poll and the undecideds are shrinking with every poll taken.

Rod, Randy’s insane views will absolutely ensure that liberals turn out in droves to vote against him. They also ensure that a lot of the folks who voted for Grayson will stay home.

“Rod, Randy’s insane views will absolutely ensure that liberals turn out in droves to vote against him. They also ensure that a lot of the folks who voted for Grayson will stay home.”

Kinda like those 9 folks who showed up at the Unity Meeting to protest.

Also ensures that Conservatives will climb over broken glass to vote for him, and I’m sure the Hugo Chavez vote wasn’t ours to have. KY at heart is a conservative state. Jack is NOT a conservative candidate in any shape, form, or fashion which will ensure that the Lt. Dan vote will stay home. That’s what it will ultimately come down to with the swing vote.

Oh yea, it’s motivated a lot of them already. Despite web ads and everything else done by the Conman to capitalize on the misteps of RP, he’s motivated enough tree huggers to donate $20K. Converesely, during the same time, Paul has raised over $100K with doing nothing special and none of it was from fundraisers or PAC money unlike Jack. Wonder who will be motivated to vote?

Rod: Sorry it took a while to approve your comment. The entire staff and I went out for dinner and just got in.

I would rather lead moderates by 40 points. Elections are won and lost by moderates as much as some people might not like to hear that.

OH, CJ poll out tonight … RP +6%. Get your spin machines going …

… Be interesting to see what the crosstabs say … Favs/Un, etc. CJ hasn’t polled head to head since Nov.

“I would rather lead moderates by 40 points. Elections are won and lost by moderates as much as some people might not like to hear that”

Actually, elections are won/lost by activists. Liberals won the primary for Conway. Conservatives won the primary for Paul. “Moderates” are only “moderately” likely to show up as they did for Grayson and Lt. Dan. I would argue FEW of those “moderates” know Jack is pro abortion and gun control.

A trustworthy poll shows the race virtually even this far out from the election. That’s not spin — it’s political reality.

Conway’s problem is THERE ARE ONLY 60 MODERATES IN KENTUCKY. The rest are nuts.
