On Monday I shared a video of a Rand Paul supporter who pushed protesters to discuss race.
And on Tuesday, I shared a story from Cary Stemle and TIME that included a photo of that Paul supporter. He identified himself to Stemle and the Associated Press as “Jason Durda”:

Reality has it, however, that his real name is Steve Bierfeldt and he’s the Director of Development for the Campaign For Liberty in Arlington, VA:

He co-wrote a book called Who is the Real Barack Obama?, as well. And he’s this guy – had a problem with the TSA when carrying large amounts of cash for Ron Paul.
Why on earth would the Director of Development for the Campaign For Liberty and a published author misrepresent himself to TIME Magazine and the Associated Press?
Rand Paul’s campaign just keeps getting weirder and weirder. In the three years this website has existed, I have never been able to write so many stories about a candidate with ease and have hundreds more waiting in the wings. It’s insanity.

Does Time have some special authority to extract people’s names?
It is really hard for me to put together the two pictures you have there. I guess you are better at placing ears than I am.

Deep Throat: Follow the money.
Bob Woodward: What do you mean? Where?
Deep Throat: Oh, I can’t tell you that.
Bob Woodward: But you could tell me that.
Deep Throat: No, I have to do this my way. You tell me what you know, and I’ll confirm. I’ll keep you in the right direction if I can, but that’s all. Just… follow the money.

I always love books you’ve never heard of with glowing reviews by people who have written exactly ONE review on Amazon.com.

Hey, I’m a Rand Paul supporter who listens to Morrissey and The Cure. Plus, when asked by the media I go by the name Holly Johnson.
There has got to be a joke there as well.

All I’m saying is that if someone doesn’t identify as “Pootie Tang” at some point during this campaign when quoted or photographed by the press? I will be highly disappointed.

Jake. How is Pootie Tang better than me identifying myself as the lead singer of “Frankie Goes to Hollywood?”
I may go by Stacy Adams. I’ve actually turned down going on record. Next time I will go on record, you choose the name I use.

Go out in public somewhere and say “Pootie Tang” and you’ll immediately understand why it’s so important to get that name in print.

Ok, these Stevie fella was looking cute until I read the line in his self-bio, “If God let everyone with sin in, Heaven would soon turn into earth. ” That’s just creepy. Is his Heaven really just an elitist country club and is this pretty boy jonesin’ to belong that bad? He needs a hug.

How is it so many of these Hitler Youth have time and desire to campaign miles from home for a candidate they can’t vote for?
14 jake // May 27, 2010 at 10:14 pm
I don’t think he’s a Hitler Youth. But he was certainly condescending toward folks on Saturday.
Nice muscles, though. My lady guns are envious.

I forgot, Hitler had much different political views than Rand Paul. :)
