Rand Paul On Changing His Positions & Such

May 26th, 2010 · 4 Comments

On Friday, May 8, 2009, Rand Paul appeared in downtown Paducah where he discussed the future:

“I think there is room for growth in the party.  I think what I bring is an outside approach, but I think I bring the ability to grow the party.  I look forward more to the general election when I can appeal more to the Independents and the middle than I can to the primary.  Not that my beliefs will change; I think I can present Republican party beliefs in a way that appeals to Independents and to working people and to Democrats.”

That’s right. Rand Paul said more than a year ago that he would adjust his platform in order to appeal to more people and get more votes. See for yourself:

Guess that’s why he’s changing his positions on the Department of Education, his view of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and his widely-publicized opinion about the Fair Housing Act.

“Appeal to more voters” as opposed to what “Appealing to less voters”? I’m quite sure that’s the goal of every candidate Jake. Paul stuck to a handful of things that have a broad appeal across party lines … Balanced budgets by law, term limits, opposition to the Obama Health Program, opposition to Cap and Trade, against abortion. All things that do have a general, broad, appeal in KY. Conversely, Conway’s views are opposite of all the above so he doesn’t tout his message now after the primary because he has to appeal to people other than the sandals and beads crowd that helped him squeak out a win, so his message now is “Rand Paul’s a racist”.

Keep blaming every word that came out of Rand Paul’s mouth on Jack Conway and the librul media. It’s working so well.

Conway just needs to run an old fashion campaign and Paul will take care of himself. Jack just look good and kiss a few babies. Also tell the voters what they want to hear even though when you get to Washington it will be politics as usual. As of right now I could give a rats ass who wins, because after all they are both Politicians that will turn into chameleons once elected. By Novemember I hope to know who is the worse of two evils.
