Earlier today the Republican Party of Kentucky hosted a Unity Rally in Frankfort. While the real story of the day may very well be the big names that weren’t present (Cathy Bailey, Geoff Davis and David Williams, for instance), I think it’d be a good idea to start out with speech footage.
Secretary of State and now-former U.S. Senate candidate Trey Grayson:

U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell:

U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul:

I’ve got about an hour of other glorious footage, thanks to our fancy operatives, and I’ll share it with you folks tomorrow and Monday.
But in the meantime? Take a look at these fancy stickers purchased at the Rand Paul Unity Shindig event today:

Isn’t that just what he needs? More racist stuff? Just days after his first flap. Ouch.

I have no idea what Rand said. My attention is focused on that reporter standing in front of Jon Samford. Yo!

What do you infer from Cathy Bailey not being there? She supported Rand..
And Jon Samford is a douche.

Enough with the personal attacks.
And, Ricky, it’s rhetorical.

“What Does God and Obama Have in Common” . . . Even subjects and verbs couldn’t agree at the Unity Rally.

when you take the mask off the Tea Party its the same as the Republican party. Rand Paul will take his orders from the GOP he will STFU watch him change

Remember, this is the day Rand Paul was too “exhausted” to do the softball interview with MTP’s David Gregory.

Meanwhile, Republican insiders say the big dogs told him to stay out of the mainstream.

jake: Meanwhile, Republican insiders say the big dogs told him to stay out of the mainstream.
By mainstream you mean the lying leftist smearing machine, right?

Actually, I mean the RPK executive committee and the NRSC folks that flooded Frankfort.
I believe the C-J has already alluded to such in an article.

kilowat, this is one Republican who is offended by all of this. It’s an embarrassment.

Apparently, Lucas believes that a “lying leftist smearing machine” operates Rand Paul’s brain that directs the words that comes out of his mouth.
All we’re going on is Rand Paul’s words in our expressed disdain of his “principles”.

Homey D. Clown’s friend Calhoun Tubbs was there too!
He wrote a song about it. Like to hear it? Here it go!
“Mitch McConnell forced out Jim Bunning, now he’s got a bigger wingnut on his hands, Ahhhhhhahaha”
Thank you very much!

Rand Paul says liberals are bashing him because they hate him. I wonder……..why doesn’t he quit complaining and let “the Market” take care of it?

I’m curious about how Southerners feel about Rand Paul’s repeated statements about how The South continued its abhorrent racism 150 years after Boston stood up for civil rights. And how about his seemingly disparaging remarks about not being able to prevent open carrying of guns in establishments.

Lisa Graas, most KY Republicans that I know have been embarrassed by you and your Tin Foil hat for some time now.
19 Rand Paul Sucks // May 23, 2010 at 5:15 pm
Now the Paulutards are supporting an anti government cop killer by the name of Jerry Kane on a Ron Paul website, and on Alex Jones’ infowars.com. Does Rand Paul feel okay with killing cops?
20 kilowat // May 23, 2010 at 11:22 pm
Rand Paul on the Alex Jones show said
Quote
I think in some ways the message has to be broadened and made more appealing to the entire Republican electorate because you have to win a primary.

Does Rand Paul believe in all the pork project that Mitch and the republicans has brought home to Ky. If not could he tell us which programs he doesn’t favor. Where is Rand on mine inspections, Black lung payments to eastern Ky miners. What about workers comp. Should the government license and control the number of dentists or should the market place control Rands competition in the market place?
What about tax breaks for businesses? Should all roads be toll roads and let the market determine where we can go to market ? There are thousands of programs that Kentuckians enjoy and benefit from. Which ones don’t Rand want for us?

Too bad the champion for fiscal sanity is so insane. I want a candidate for high office who is willing to name names when it comes to the massive budget cuts we need to make (even though it will make them unelectable). Too bad Paul is bat shit crazy because that small part of his platform actually does make sense.
23 Steve Magruder // May 24, 2010 at 3:54 pm
But if Rand Paul can’t even support cuts in his own Medicare payments, how can he be trusted on so-called fiscal sanity? If he’s a “walk the walk” person, he sure did trip over the sidewalk crack.
