NOTE TO READERS FROM COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN: CLICK HERE for the story about Rand Paul’s 2002 letter to the editor. And thanks for visiting!
Okay, so I’m loosely kidding. BUT. DNC Chairman Tim Kaine did just appear on Ed Schultz to discuss the story I unearthed this afternoon:

I can’t believe the Democrats have grown a pair! Color me impressed. “Kentucky Fried Candidate.” Haha.
Oh, and here’s Jack Conway on Rand Paul:
“Rand Paul has this tendency to get in public or get on national cable shows and feel like he wants to give me a lecture on constitutional law,” said Conway. “I’m the attorney general of Kentucky. He didn’t go to law school. I did. I don’t need a lecture on Constitutional law from Rand Paul or Sarah Palin.”
Dear MSNBC: Please don’t hate me for swiping your clip!
P.S. Keith Olbermann emailed me (Sonka can verify) and I started to cry like a little girl. Guess I really am a fanboy. I was wrong. Wow.

Hey Rand Paul —
What about African-American basketball players on the UK or UofL teams? I assume you think that hotels and restaurants should be allowed to deny these players the right to eat or sleep at private businesses.
Waiting for your reply, Dr. Paul.

WHOA, Jake really has been “occupied” today!
I hope people all over the country are googling “pageonekentucky” tonight.
I finally have a shot at being represented by a Democrat in the senate now.

Is there any possibility of an independent candidate coming forward? Or has the deadline for that opportunity passed???

Jake: Nice to see you get your props. Now, if you can just get your new BFF Mr. Oberman to dish a little dirt on Mayor Happy Pants & his run for L[ef]t Hand of God, I’ll build you a shrine.

2nd Tuesday in August is the deadline.
You should give it a shot le gardien, I’ll sign your petition!

Rand Paul is not a racist, oh no! He’s just a racist by proxy, as in his view, others should be allowed to discriminate based on race, while “non-racists” like him look the other way and errantly believe that happenings like that are just a dumb-luck part of liberty.

Shh-hh. Don’t say or do anything to get Paul off the GOP ticket. He’s too good to be true.

I disagree with Schultz when he says that Paul does this to “get attention”. I think he believes this stuff……….for reals. Kaine makes the point that he’s been talking about this stuff for years. What kind of person talks about this stuff for years without actually believing it? A nut case? And that’s better how?

Christmas comes early for the Democrats… please Rand Paul be the gift that keeps on giving. This is the best thing to help the Dems win ever.

Yes, Judy! I agree. He’ll self-destruct by November. Maybe even smoke a public joint between now and then. It’d be great if he went out that way.
It’s rookie-time!
13 jake // May 21, 2010 at 7:28 am
If he was going to publicly self-destruct, he would have done so in the primary. It’s up to the non-Pauls to make sure he loses.
Don’t get so confident, folks.

I say that Trey Grayson and Mitch Mconnell should boycott Saturday’s Unity Rally Based on the recent statements of Rand Paul.
If they attend They must agree with Rand Paul and his feeling on the Laws.
Stand up and take the” Sheets” off

Judy, you’re right.
Please GOP keep Rand Paul on the ticket.
Even if Rand Paul wins by a sliver in Kentucky, his national presence will help the country get rid of other Republicans across the country.

?unless the rest of the nation is about
to go into a total AuH2o mood over the
economy and how sadly broke D.C is…?
is scott brown a fluke or bay state as in
centrist and mainstream? was the simple
accumulative seniority & force of habit
why the voters year in and year old let
Teddy go to d.c and also john kerry…?
18 starrymessenger // May 21, 2010 at 11:41 am
murtha’s staffer went back to good ole d.c
but the ranking guy from penn’s woods
was done tole to retire at 80something…
the national landscape has some mixed
signals… and there is an anti-d.c mood!

Congrats Page One! I’ve heard you quoted and sourced by talking heads all day. But watch out, the mob can be fickle. Limbaugh will be attacking you pretty soon.
