Remember Tim Hazlette? The man who was indicted on multiple charges – and then pardoned – in Ernie Fletcher’s Administration during the hiring scandal?
On July 11, 2005 Hazlette was named as a conspirator in the indictments of Darrell Brock Jr., Basil Turbyfill, and Bob Wilson.
On August 3, 2005 Hazlette was indicted on a single misdemeanor charge of criminal conspiracy to violate personnel laws.
On August 11, 2005, about a week after his indictment, Hazlette was promoted by Fletcher to the position of commissioner of administrative services, to fill the position left vacant by Dan Druen, who resigned on July 19 after he was indicted on his first felony charge.
On August 29, 2005 Hazlette was one of nine indicted Fletcher administration employees granted a blanket pardon by the Governor, which dismissed his indictment.
He’s been rehired in a non-merit position with Emergency Management as a Program Coordinator.
Some speculate Hazlette’s new digs have something to do with Debra Arnold being Executive Director. She worked for him at KSP– he hired her when he was head of Transportation Personnel during the whole ordeal. But folks inside the Governor’s Office tell me there’s nothing they can do about it.
This is… absolutely terrible news for Governor Steve Beshear. And it couldn’t come at a more terrible time.
And you thought David Williams had problems.

This is one of the things wrong with this administration, I thought it was just bringing back the same “old” faces but it looks like indicted Republicans are most important. And Debra Arnold, there are Dems that are sitting at home that worked their asses off to elect this man and they do this. Adams office said they are aware of it but alas they owed the disciple something, what does he have on them??? Worth finding out. Democrats all over the state are going to work very hard to make sure this lying bunch is not re elected AND the hilarious part is Adam is running for Auditor, forgive me while I double over in laughter, this Dem for one will make sure this never happens, he can’t find his way out of a paper bag. Follow Crit Luallen, omg, again forgive me while I double over. Keep this story alive, folks need to know the truth. Folks who worked for this man cannot even get their phone calls answered as of a year ago. I do know for a fact that Debra’s husband donated $2,000 to SB’s campaign, so what there are those who gave much more in sweat and money. Time for another Dem to run, they would knock their pants off. Time to go home Steve and Adam, bye bye.

I know you don’t like Hazlette because he worked for Fletcher, but you need to take your blinders off every once in awhile. He is truly one of the good guys.

Wondering.
Its not that Hazlette worked for Fletcher. Beshear has kept, re-hired, and promoted many of the Republican non-merits who worked for the Fletcher administration. He just forgot the Democrats who put him into office. But we haven’t.
The problem is he re-hired a guy Fletcher had to pardon or he would have been found guilty of personnel and merit system violations.
Democrats across the state of Kentucky should be outraged at Beshear for re-hiring one of the main 4 people involved in the KYTC personnel scandal. Hazlette was one of the 4 reasons Ernie Fletcher is not the Governor right now. The others are Nighbert, Murgatroyd and the dastardly Dan Druen.
The rumor I hear is there are several Republicans who have held fund raisers in Eastern Kentucky for Beshear. One of the things Beshear had to do was take care of a few select Republicans. Hazlette being one.
We cringed at David Williams hiring Nighbert again but not that bad because both are Republicans. It is even worse for Beshear to re-hire Hazlette.
Not in a million years did I as a loyal Democrat, ever expect the Governor I voted for, rehire a Fletcher Disciple. Hazlette tried to rally the troop around Fletcher by calling them his “Disciples”, it didn’t work but it got him pardoned and re-hired by the Democrat Governor I voted into office.
Gov. Beshear, You will not get my vote … even if David Williams runs against you. It will be the first time in my life I do not vote.
Speaking of Druen, I wonder when Beshear is going to re-hire him?

I’ll give you Druen, but Nighbert was a relative nobody when all that was going on. Bailey was secretary of transportation when all that personnel stuff was happening and Nighbert was down in local government affairs or whatever the name of that office is.
Beshear’s got a whole lot of Fletcher people working for him in key positions in Transportation. Charles Wolfe was writing speeches for Fletcher late in his term and how he’s the Transportation spokesman. That’s one example.
I don’t think Hazlette would have been convicted had it gone to trial. I think very few of those indicted would have been convicted.
And Thunder Storm, you could have fooled me that you’re a loyal Dem. You’ve sure sounded very Republican on this blog on many occasions.

Bailey had nothing to do with hiring scandal Wondring. Nighbert, Druen, Hazlette and others were involved from beginning and carried out the coup which led to Bailey’s demise. Emails made public prove that. Hazlette is one who used the “disciple” comment comparing the work that he, Druen and others were doing to the work of Christ meeting opposition but knowing they were doing the “right” thing. Ha! As for Edelen, he’s a little Richard who because of that uses his power to try and swing…doesn’t work though!

To set the record straight…..Tim Hazlette was hired in the Department for Military Affairs in the Division of Emergency Management by BG John Heltzel as the Search and Rescue coordinator, Grade 13 merit position. Debra Arnold works for the Dept. for Military Affairs but does not work in the Division of Emergency Management. Further, if you have any knowledge at all you would know that a single contribution for any political campiegen can not be more thant $1,000.00. Obviously you don’t have to be very intelligent to find your way to this blog and express your “opinions” as fact. Try open records next time!
