I love that I mysteriously stopped receiving press releases from a certain candidate for the U.S. Senate who is not Daniel Mongiardo after I rightfully criticized his embarrassment of a campaign. Don’t you? I just as mysteriously and randomly started receiving them again after an inquiry or two.
It’s too bad that I have been given yet another reason not to want to vote in that primary.
How sad is that?
Lt. Dan is working hard to gain my support (not happening) and the person who would, in my opinion, be a better senator just cold wants to have me working against him 24/7.
To Jack & Crew:
- You let a bigshot consultant ride your campaign into the ground and spin me fifteen different ways from Sunday about it.
- You’ve neglected to call prominent Democratic legislators to ask for their support and it has been NINE MONTHS since I told you not to blow them off (Daniel’s lobbied them).
- I recently visited eight Eastern Kentucky counties and NONE of the Democratic Judges Executive have received calls from you (Daniel has visited each of them).
- You waited til the last minute to hire competent staff, despite losing in the polls and having mountains of cash. One of those folks you (Mr. Consultant’s fault?) blew off was Lisa Tanner. She was consequently hired by Dick Prelopski and just look at the ground game she has since built for Daniel in Louisville. Bet that one stings.
- Eight months ago I put you and your folks (Mr. Consultant dropped that ball, didn’t he?) in touch with someone who knows where every single Mongiardo skeleton is buried. That individual has yet to be debriefed.
- Your fundraising is beginning to dry up (see that? Mongiardo supporters are gonna spread what I just said far and wide), according to folks within your campaign.
- You’re still reactive instead of pro-active, despite recent efforts to right that particular campaign ship. Your health care action and refusing to cave to the teabaggers last week was impressive. But it was reactive and you waited too long to speak up.
- After I mentioned that you weren’t going to attend the University of Louisville forum last week, two different campaign staffers told me two different stories. Then I got a call from higher up that told me another. The behind-the-scenes story at UofL doesn’t mesh with any of the stories I heard from your world. You have the very best people in the entirety of the Commonwealth and you’re letting them blatantly lie to me.
- Your most trusted advisors told me two weeks ago that things had changed. Have yet to see it.
You need to turn this shiz around right now. This week. Or I think you’re going to lose no matter how much money you spend on massive television buys. Unless you want to lose.
Anybody with me here? Changing my voter registration from “Democratic” to “Other” the day after the primary. Maybe before… if Jack doesn’t turn things around.

Jake, the same incompetence you see in the Senate race is the same incompetence people are seeing out of the Attorney Generals office. Just outrageous crap which doesn’t make any sense. You’ve got the AG appealing a dismissal of a criminal case where the AG’s OWN [very expensive expert witness] says the video and audios tapes were tampered with while in the custody of police.
If Conway wants to piss away the senate race, thats one thing. It’s a totally other deal when innocent Kentucky citizens are being maliciously prosecuted by the Attorney Generals Office because one of their female investigators has a close personal relationship with law enforcement involved with the tampered tapes.
When do the f@(k ups stop Jack? When??

Actually, Amy, you’re off your rocker (in my own personal opinion, based on the zillions of comments you’ve left here spewing this or that about how evil the OAG is). You hate everyone, forever, amen, in the Office of the Attorney General and have made that quite public for several years. All because they don’t swallow hook, line and sinker whatever it is you’re peddling.
For the millionth time, give it up and go elsewhere. Jeeeeeesus christ.
No one in their right mind thinks the OAG does a poor job. It’s excelled at public service for decades. Under Chandler. Under Stumbo. Under Conway.

If you change your registration to “other”…then according to Julian Carroll…you’ll need to move to another country.

The democratic party needs to do some soul searching it seems.
Jack Conway and Trey Grayson have both ran dismal campaigns.

This has nothing to do with the Democratic Party and everything to do with Jack Conway.
He needs to be an actual Democrat and actual Democrats will vote for him.

Can we just have one senator for the next four years? And then after that can we just recuse ourselves from having any senators at all? I think the world would be better if we, as a state, just opted out of providing elected representatives to make decisions for us…

Who’s gonna tell him?

When Jack loses he’s gonna be just like Bruce Lunsford…..nobody will take him serious again….how can you lose the 3rd as Democrat? Jack did. Now with a 3 or 4 to 1 cash advantage he’s still gonna lose by double digits…….his flip flops….his reported comment to Ben Chandler “I’m not gonna chase Dan to every fish fry and VFW hall across the state”….no wonder he’s gonna get thumped

I disagree somewhat. I don’t think Jack is going to be thought of as Bruce. Primarily because Jack isn’t currently fighting to rebuild his reputation as Bruce had to do (and rightly did). He’ll still be able to win other elections and hold other offices. But Kentucky will probably be finished with him when it comes to Washington-level office.
He doesn’t have to chase Lt. Dan to every VFW and pig roast, nope. But he most certainly needs to be in every nook and cranny in this Commonwealth 24/7.

I just don’t know why he doesn’t make a run for Gov. Crit/Conway ‘11 would be unstoppable for sure.
