Haha, so, funny story… you know how Jim Newberry and his top political dog, Mark Riddle, denied homophobic push-polling against Jim Gray several weeks ago? (Yet there’s plenty of evidence to the contrary…)
Well, whattya know?
Last night the two attended a mayoral forum in Lexington and this went down, roughly 40 seconds into the clip:

That’s right. Jim Newberry referred (accidentally? riiight) to Jim Gray as Jim “Gay” before quickly correcting himself. Gray, the current Vice Mayor, is openly gay.
Or should I refer to him as Jim G(r)ay? That’s how Newberry apparently wants the public to perceive him.
I think it’s high time for an official public apology.

poor Mayor Newberry has a long history of homophobia.

Gays should not be judge as a collectivist group. They should be judged as individuals. Power to the individual!

Frank Queerson, I mean Frank Simon would surely approve of the tactic.

Dr. Frank will teabag you as punishment.

If he doesn’t teabag you, he will for sure give you a back rub!

Sounds like a slip not a slam. Also, when I mention that my brother is ‘gay’ I don’t feel like I’ve slurred him. To the contrary…

You probably aren’t making a habit of experiencing these little slip-ups as a mayoral candidate, either.
