More of the Truly Unbelievable: Costs for David Williams’ Unnecessary Police Protection

March 19th, 2010 · 1 Comment

On March 5 I told you about David Williams’ out-of-control spending when it came to the Kentucky State Police.

It was revealed that $567,790.50 was spent in 2008 and 2009 to provide police protection for legislative session (which is understandable), for meals & lodging when officers have to travel with legislators (unacceptable), for mileage when officers have to travel with legislators (unacceptable) and for salary when traveling with legislators (again, unacceptable).

But it gets worse!

2007

  • Cost to provide meals and lodging for 2007 travel: $12,623.52
  • Cost for security for 2007 session (includes above): $300,638.94

Bringing the grand total for three years’ of KSP expenditures on behalf of the legislature to $868,429.44.

All while King David Williams sits on his high horse dictating what is and isn’t going to occur in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
