  • Mongiardo 37

&

Long story short: Conway fairs better against Rand Paul, but is still losing. Trey Grayson might as well be a goner.

Conway’s done, too, barring the sudden and unexpected acquisition of a clue (are they for sale? he does have a lot of cash). It was always an uphill battle for him, with an opponent who’s been through a Senate race before (different animal than the attorney general’s race against a guy like Stan Lee, and I confess I can’t even remember if Conway had to beat anybody to get that nomination), and has more of a statewide base. Still, Mongiardo should never have this kind of a lead. Conway seems to have no idea how to run statewide, and all the money he’s raised from himself and others can’t give him the answers. So the landslide looms.

Mongiardo-Paul should be interesting. Lots of national support, media attention and cash for Paul, and states don’t come any redder than this one. On the other hand, Mongiardo always seems to do better than anybody would have expected. Should be fun to watch.

They’d probably be as useless to Jack as all that coin he’s raised…
