You’ve heard me shill on behalf of Kentucky State Parks dozens of times. So here’s another!

SEE HOW MANY PARKS WE’VE GOT?

Lodges in our beautiful state parks are offering a fancy spring discount. Through April 30th guests will receive 10% off lodges and cottages when using this coupon:

“This is a great time of year to get out and visit our state parks to enjoy the outdoors,” said Parks Commissioner Gerry van der Meer. “We hope these coupons will encourage guests to visit a park this spring.”

The discount is good at Kentucky’s 17 resort parks with lodging. They’ve got restaurants, hiking trails, picnic areas and all kinds of special events. Nearly all of them are close to historic sites that include battlefields, museums, historic homes, pioneer forts.

So go take advantage of our great parks system. You won’t regret it.

Be sure to mention the coupon when making reservations.

The best slots are at Dale Hollow. Just tell them Davie sent you.

As you know I roam the backroads of Kentucky with some regularity and often find myself at a State Park Lodge. They are clean and comfortable, and as you say, are often in close proximity to places of an historic nature, as in some cases, are historic places themselves. My favorites are Lake Cumberland and Pine Mountain, the latter of which is the original state park and lodge and has a Louisville connection of sorts.

What Jeff says above should be a motivator to take advantage of the 10% discount.
