I’m wondering… what the heck is up in the journo world in Kentucky? Why is Joe Arnold the only political reporter to, well, report that Rand Paul’s campaign admits it is lying and taking Trey Grayson’s remarks out of context (illegally, I might add)? Somebody needs to get off their butt and focus on this Republican U.S. Senate primary instead of always harping on talking points. This is negative and dishonest campaigning at its finest and the entirety of the news media is silent. [Blah Blah Blah]
Yesterday the Immigrants List released its state scorecard on immigration. See where your Kentucky congresscritter stands. [Immigrants List]
Really, Republicans? You’re going to let Greg Stumbo say there’s been no resistance to RAISING BUSINESS TAXES? At a time like this? You no longer get to claim you’re the party of fiscal responsibility, fraudsters. [Tom Lofuts]
Instead of jerking around with abortion in the legislature 24/7, why not abort all children, forever? Amen. [Bluegrass Politics]
Oh, to be a fly on the wall during the meeting with Steve Beshear and Akio Toyoda. [Raw Story]
Ed Marksberry got the the endorsement of the Greater Louisville Central Labor Council in the race against Brett Guthrie in Kentucky’s 2nd District. Only nine more months until Guthrie wins re-election. [Press Release]
Republican Mike Templeman, that guy with a pickemup truck, is mad at Ben Chandler because Mubarack Nobama is going to spend us all too hell. [Press Release]
Kentucky’s environment is going to pot but Democrats aren’t keen on doing anything about it. Greg Stumbo favors allowing Jim Gooch to spew his weight in propaganda. And, no, Stumbo doesn’t really live in Prestonsburg. [Ronnie Ellis]
And Greg Stumbo apparently cannot read the constitution. It’s clearly unconstitutional to teach a Jesus Bible-only class in a public school. [Stephenie Steitzer]
Mitch McConnell said yesterday’s health care summit was “fabulous.” [HuffPo]
Joel Pett, Herald-Leader cartoonist, whiny ass titty baby of epic proportions. You’ll no longer find us promoting his work. And the death of newsprint continues. [Barefoot & Progressive]

What the heck is up in the Journo world in Kentucky?
You know the answer to that. Most of their readers are now online, they can’t sell full page ads for the price of a new car and so they have no money for staff.
The result? Your investigative work eclipses their, other 24-7 news sites (like mine I hope) are competing effectively for readers and these shifting trends mean more info, delivered faster, and hopefully better will continue to be our edge.
Except that you’re wrong alot. :)

Stumbo has a summer home in Prestonsburg sure, but lives elsewhere. His wife is a Realtor in Lexington. I mean thats a long way to drive to show houses to people right?

Marc Carey says his blog and others are replacing traditional journalism.
Not being very familiar with Marc’s blog, I followed the link in his signature.
Just checking his first half-dozen “stories,” I see they consist of links to, in order, (1) CNN, (2) the New York Daily News, (3) TV commercials that I see on my local news, (4) the Reuters news wire, (5) the Daily Express, a British newspaper, and (6) The Courier-Journal.
It’s unclear that Marc reports any original stories himself. His Web site appears to be nothing but links to the very media sources he hopes to see go bankrupt, followed by Marc’s comments on the stories.
I wonder what Marc would do if CNN, etc., did indeed disappear. He’d have nothing to post.

You people! I sleep for half a day with the pig flu alien living in my body or whatever and you go and start a fight. Sweet!
Newsprint may be dying, but that’s not because of traditional journalism – which is still alive and well. It’s because of jacked up mega corporations that have no concept of journalism.
I, for one, am thankful for the journalists we have in Kentucky and try to promote them as often as possible (like with these silly round-ups I post every day).
And I’m pretty sure nothing I have every written has ever eclipsed anyone else, ever. So… thanks for the compliment, but let’s keep it real.

I’m not sure I want to view Beshear bending over forwards for Toyoda. I have this sinking feeling that Toyota threatened Beshear to speak out like he has.

“Hi Ho, Mitch”
Mitch now says the health summit with Obama was “fabulous.” First time I’ve heard a positive word about Barack from Ky’s High Priest of Doom. Now, Mitcho, get off your fat rump and do something positive (in action) for the Amurkin people.

Yesterday Mr. Toyoda himself visited the Georgetown Toyota Assembly plant and made a huge announcement for auto racing fans. He announced that Toyota has decided not to withdraw from Formula One as previously announced. There will be no stopping us, he said.
