Yesterday Governor Steve Beshear took off his gas station hat and visited the Lexington Veterans Affairs Medical Center in honor of Salute to Hospitalized Veterans Week.
The release from the Governor’s Office didn’t identify the two veterans pictured above. Maybe someone from Papaw’s staff could chime in so it doesn’t look like these veterans were merely used for a photo op.

“Act for Vets–Don’t Use Them!”
I am so sick of politicians using vets as props–and prattling on about how much they love them. Do something for them for all the sacrifices they made for us–and for the heinous and dumb acts of war perpetrated by some of those damn pols. “Flyboy over Alabama” Bush gave them less health care and services and refused measly salary hikes for vets. That is the kind of bullcrap and hypocrisy I am speaking of.
