This is why Tom Riner is NOT a good legislator. Adding a $50 fee for anyone convicted of domestic violence? Really? Riner knew this would be a major roadblock to protecting victims of domestic violence with HB 189.

Jeff Hoover is right. It’s silly to continually attach fees to everything that rolls out of Judiciary. And Greg Stumbo should be ashamed for backing this mess.
Guess Tom Riner thinks this will help him get re-elected.
For the record: I haven’t spoken to Rep. Jenkins about this yet and she’ll likely be pissed that I’m bringing it up. So put that in your homemade bong and smoke it.

While I’m not a fan of tacking on fees – everyone seems to be supporting a bill that will cost these individuals a whole lot MORE money.
And for the record, no one is ever convicted of “domestic violence.” Assault, harassment, menacing, terroristic threatening, etc. are all crimes UNDER the umbrella of domestic violence.

Sounds like another baseless attack on Tom Riner. I would rather just hear something positive about his opponent, on why he is better than Riner from this website, than continuing baseless attacks on Riner. Riner for all the legislators in Frankfort, is one of the very few who are not bought and sold yearly. Thats is just a fact.
I do not agree with him on everything myself, but I do respect the fact that he is an independent voice in Frankfort and is not a clone of the Democratic Party.

Yeah, totally baseless.
Are you people brain dead?
What Tom Riner did was essentially kill this legislation.
It’s not just Joni Jenkins’ portion of the bill that’s now essentially a goner. Jimmie Lee’s database and the training requirements for law enforcement. Mike Denham’s shelter trespass piece. They’re all down the shitter. All because Uncle Tom needs a leg up for his reelection.
