My, that didn’t last long.
Brave Patriot Marilyn Parker has nixed her congressional campaign:
Press release for Marilyn Parker for congress:
Over the past 8 months I have been very busy spreading the word about the time tested principles of conservatism, values that, for over 200 years, have made America the land of exceptionalism. My goals were to expose the ineptitudes, corruption, and failed government practices and policies that are taking America down a path of financial ruin. I wanted my candidacy to offer a picture of what true health care reform would look like, tempered with economic responsibility. I wanted citizens to understand that in order to preserve and to protect our future economic security, what’s left of the borrowed TARP bailout and the $800-billion “non stimulus” must be recouped to reduce this runaway 12 trillion dollar debt. Corporate taxes have to be cut, so that businesses will stay in America. Capital gains taxes have to be cut so that businesses will invest in America, and income taxes have to be reduced, so that resources are restored to the actual revenue producers, that create jobs so that millions of Americans can go back to work and be eligible for employer provided benefits, and reduce our ever-increasing dependency on entitlements. Lastly, I wanted the citizens of the third district to understand that America needs energy independence for our future economic security as well as our national security. This includes drilling domestically for oil to create real jobs and produce cheap fuel for a thriving American economy. Our country’s well being should not be beholden to countries that do not have America’s best interests in mind.
Therefore, it is with much sadness and angst that I must regretfully inform my supporters and the citizens of the 3rd district that after much prayer and deliberation, I am stepping down as a candidate for its congressional seat to serve the best interests of my children, to ensure my own job security, and because the economic uncertainty has made this a difficult time for any pure grassroots candidate to generate adequate revenue for a well- funded campaign. With our nation severely in debt, and a government that continues to spend wildly, corruptly and irresponsibly, I decided that I needed to do what is best for my family: planning for our own future economic security, and spend my time keeping my family close.
However, I am not going to leave the political arena entirely. There is still so much work to be done in sounding the alarm that our government has become too big, too corrupt, and has lost its way in veering from constitutionally sound principles. We cannot depend on “our” media that under reports, misreports and distorts what is happening in our government. Too many citizens remain uninformed or under informed. This does not bode well for our nation. Therefore, my goal is to go back to where I started, which was with the Louisville Grassroots TEA Party, as a political activist. I want to help build this organization into a political force that is one to be reckoned with. It will educate and motivate. It will reach citizens through all possible avenues of print and media. It will provide platforms and venues for like- minded candidates. And lastly, it will work as an adjunct to, and proponent of, conservative family values and sound economic principles.
I would like for voters in the 3rd district to take notice of two out of the three remaining candidates that I think reflect the honesty, integrity, and character that voters are now demanding in our elected officials. Those candidates are Larry Hausman and Todd Lalle. These are the true conservative candidates. They embrace the conservative values of smaller, less intrusive government, lower taxes, and constitutionally-sound principles that have made America the greatest nation in history. Please visit their websites and support them with your time and resources. After much thoughtful consideration, I will offer my personal endorsement to Larry Hausman, because of his business acumen, honesty, and character. I feel that Larry has the most economically sound understanding of the kind of solutions that are desperately needed to move this country forward.
Yours in Liberty,
Marilyn Parker
Guess we won’t be getting gay married, by a Muslin, just for fun. Damnit.

As is typical with these “patriots” they want to “cut” everything that includes the word tax instead of make it appropriate.
And believe it or not, energy independence doesn’t come from companies making money on natural resources it comes on technological advancement.
Thank goodness another one of the self-centered supporters of plutocracy is gone!!

It does take a measure of bravery to enter the political fray and endure public scrutiny.
Many who complain, do little or nothing substantive to change things.
Agree or disagree with her, she did make more of an effort than most to affect the change she felt was needed.

I agree with Ms. Parker: The U.S. has an exceptional military and exceptional hubris, and she and her fellow “patriots” are the embodiment of that hubris.
Thankfully, most of us think for ourselves and use rational judgment in considering the issues of the day. In the end, candidates drop out of races because the support isn’t there. And that should make most of us feel good.
