Lt. Dan Claims Jack’s Dad Makes Him Popular?

December 30th, 2009 · 8 Comments

Check out this bit from Daniel Mongiardo’s latest email blast, in a portion about what “gifts” to his campaign can allegedly accomplish:

And, perhaps most importantly, it will send a message – a message the entire country could benefit from: the US Senate will not be awarded to an individual based on who their parents are or how much money they have.

A true WTF moment.

That was followed up with:

I am the only candidate in this race who has a record of fighting for everyday, working Kentuckians. From standing on the picket lines with nurses in Hazard to insisting on fair access to healthcare in Frankfort, the positions I have taken have not always been popular, but they have made a difference for Kentuckians in need.

Because we all know that Senate Bill 245 made a difference for Kentuckians in need at the time: fearmongers who wanted to be re-elected/ward off accusations of being fruity. Blind support of King Coal and mountaintop removal makes a difference for Kentuckians in need: corrupt politicians. Making loud commercials illegal makes a difference for Kentuckians in need: fat slobs who can’t be bothered to turn down the television. Attacking the governor on tape using vulgarity and then denying it makes a difference for Kentuckians in need: me.

Happy New Year!

Yeah, so it looks to me like that’s a jab at ol’ Rand, the parents thing. You know, son of Ron.

Maybe if Dan would quit buying Frankfort apartment buildings which make him no money he’d be more like Jack’s dad. Is Mongiardo a poor doctor? I’ve never met one of those.

Momma always said if you have to run down others to make yourself feel good, something is wrong with you….enough said.

Democrats are afraid to acknowledge Rand Paul.

Though, Lt. Dan is a professed fan of Glenn Beck.

Rand Paul has acknowledged from the onset of his candidacy that he would not be able to do what he has if not for the popularity of his father.

The issue “son of Ron” is pretty much a non-starter.

Just to refresh everyones memory here is dr dan’s other bff http://www.flickr.com/photos/lgmongiardo/3216077842/

Also another funny thing in the email he says he has a record but I can’t think of one thing that he has done except preach about his fancy trains and e-health.

Wait wasn’t he kicked off of the ehealth task force…

So I guess he doesn’t have a record to stand on!

Since KY coal industry accounts for 1.5% of all Kentucky jobs, I think we should make Lt. Dan not only a Senator, but we could do more.
We should make him a Federal Czar. He could be the Coal Czar. That way he could protect those precious jobs at the expense and health of not only the other 98.5% Kentuckians, but also the other 6 billion oxygen-breathing humans on the planet. Go Coal! Go Mongiardo! Coal! Mongiardo! Coal! (Cough)

Too bad that as a country we don’t make ineligible for office the spawn of previous elected officials; if this were the case we would never have had W, the wars, the very scary economy, all the damage the US is suffering now.
On the other hand, if one decides to run for public office, and just happens to have very smart, successful, upstanding parents from a long line of smart, successful, upstanding people–with a history in Kentucky not confined solely to Louisville…isn’t this a good indicator of the potential of an excellent leader?
